भ॒गम् अस्या व॒र्च आ॒दिष्य् अ॒धि वृक्षा॒द् इव स्र॒जम् ।
महा॒बुध्न इव प॒र्वतो ज्यो॒क् पितृ॒ष्व् आस्ताम् ॥१॥
bhágam asyā várca ā́diṣy ádhi vr̥kṣā́d iva srájam |
mahā́budhna iva párvato jyók pitŕ̥ṣv āstām ||1||
Я взял себе ее счастливую долю, блеск,
Как венок с дерева.
Словно гора с большим основанием,
Пусть она долго сидит у предков!
As from the tree a wreath, have I assumed her fortune and her
fame:
Among her kinsfolk long may she dwell, like a mountain broadly-
based.
I have taken unto myself her fortune and her glory, as a wreath off a tree. Like a mountain with broad foundation may she sit a long time with her parents!
avś_01.014.02.
एषा॒ ते राजन् कन्या॑ वधू॒र् नि॒ धूयताम् यम ।
सा॒ मातु॒र् बध्यतां गृहे॒ ऽथो भ्रा॒तुर् अ॒थो पितुः॒ ॥२॥
eṣā́ te rājan kanyā̀ vadhū́r ní dhūyatām yama |
sā́ mātúr badhyatāṃ gr̥hé 'tho bhrā́tur átho pitúḥ ||2||
Эту девицу, о царь,
Пусть столкнут к тебе невестой, о Яма!
Пусть привяжут ее в доме у матери,
И у брата, и у отца!
King Yama, let this maiden be surrendered as a wife to thee:
Bound let her be meanwhile within, her mother's, brother's,
father's house.
This woman shall be subjected to thee as thy wife, O king Yama; (till then) let her be fixed to the house of her mother, or her brother, or her father!
avś_01.014.03.
एषा॒ ते कुलपा॒ राजन् ता॒म् उ ते प॒रि दद्मसि ।
ज्यो॒क् पितृ॒ष्व् आसाता आ॒ शीर्ष्णः॒ शमो॒प्यात् ॥३॥
eṣā́ te kulapā́ rājan tā́m u te pári dadmasi |
jyók pitŕ̥ṣv āsātā ā́ śīrṣṇáḥ śamópyāt ||3||
Она твоя хозяйка в доме, о царь,
Ее мы тебе и вручаем.
Долго будет сидеть она у предков,
Пока не осыплются (волосы) с головы.
Queen of thy race is she, O King: to thee do we deliver her.
Long with her kinsfolk may she sit, until her hair be white with
age.
This woman shall be the keeper of thy house, O king (Yama), and her do we make over to thee! May she long sit with her relatives, until (her hair) drops from her head!
avś_01.014.04.
अ॒सितस्य ते ब्र॒ह्मणा कश्य॒पस्य ग॒यस्य च ।
अन्तःकोश॒म् इव जाम॒यो॒ ऽपि नह्यामि ते भ॒गम् ॥४ ॥
ásitasya te bráhmaṇā kaśyápasya gáyasya ca |
antaḥkośám iva jāmáyó 'pi nahyāmi te bhágam ||4 ||

Я запираю твою счастливую долю,
Как сестры - то, что внутри ларя.
With Asita's and Kasyapa's and Gaya's incantation, thus
As sisters pack within a chest, I bind and tie thy fortune up.
With the incantation of Asita, of Kasyapa, and of Gaya do I cover up thy fortune, as women cover (something) within a chest.
