इमां॒ खनाम्य् ओ॒षधिं वीरु॒धां ब॒लवत्तमाम् ।
य॒या सप॒त्नीं बा॒धते य॒या संविन्द॒ते प॒तिम् ॥१॥

imā́ṃ khanāmy óṣadhiṃ vīrúdhāṃ bálavattamām |
yáyā sapátnīṃ bā́dhate yáyā saṃvindáte pátim ||1||

Я копаю эту траву,
Самую сильную из растений,
С помощью которой прогоняют соперницу,
С помощью которой покоряют мужа полностью.

From out the earth I dig this Plant, and herb of most effectual
power,
Wherewith one quells the rival wife and gains the husband for
one's self.

I dig up this plant, of herbs the most potent, by whose power rival women are overcome, and husbands are obtained.

avś_03.018.02.

उ॒त्तानपर्णे सु॒भगे दे॒वजूते स॒हस्वति ।
सप॒त्नीं मे प॒रा णुद प॒तिं मे के॒वलं कृधि ॥२॥

úttānaparṇe súbhage dévajūte sáhasvati |
sapátnīṃ me párā ṇuda pátiṃ me kévalaṃ kr̥dhi ||2||

О широколистая, приносящая счастье, Вдохновленная богами, победительница! Оттолкни прочь мою соперницу! Сделай мужа только моим!

Auspicious, with expanded leaves, sent by the Gods, victorious
Plant,
Drive thou, the rival wife away, and make my husband only
mine.

O thou (plant) with erect leaves, lovely, do thou, urged on by the gods, full of might, drive away my rival, make my h usband mine alone!

avś_03.018.03.

नहि॒ ते ना॒म जग्रा॒ह नो॒ अस्मि॒न् रमसे प॒तौ ।
प॒राम् एव॒ पराव॒तं सप॒त्नीं गमयामसि ॥३॥

nahí te nā́ma jagrā́ha nó asmín ramase pátau |
párām evá parāvátaṃ sapátnīṃ gamayāmasi ||3||

Не захватил ведь он имени твоего, Не останешься ты у этого мужа.
В самую дальнюю даль Отправляем мы соперницу.

Indeed he hath not named her name: thou with this husband
dalliest not,
Far into distance most remote we drive the rival wife away.

He did not, forsooth, call thy name, and thou shalt not delight in this' husband! To the very farthest distance do we drive our rival.

avś_03.018.04.

उ॒त्तराह॒म् उत्तर उ॒त्तरे॒द् उ॒त्तराभ्यः ।
अधः॒ सप॒त्नी या॒ म॒मा॒धरा सा॒धराभ्यः ॥४॥

úttarāhám uttara úttaréd úttarābhyaḥ |
adháḥ sapátnī yā́ mámā́dharā sā́dharābhyaḥ ||4||

Я выше, (чем она), о ты, что выше;
Выше (я), конечно, (даже) тех, кто выше!
Внизу (та), что соперница моя,
Ниже (она) тех, кто ниже!

Stronger am I, O stronger one, yea, mightier than the mightier;
Beneath me be my rival wife, down, lower than the lowest
dames!

Superior am I, O superior (plant), superior, truly, to superior (women). Now shall my rival be inferior to those that are inferior!

avś_03.018.05.

अह॒म् अस्मि स॒हमाना॒थो त्व॒म् असि सासहिः॒ ।
उभे॒ स॒हस्वती भूत्वा॒ सप॒त्नीं मे सहावहै ॥५॥

ahám asmi sáhamānā́tho tvám asi sāsahíḥ |
ubhé sáhasvatī bhūtvā́ sapátnīṃ me sahāvahai ||5||

Я - побеждающая,
И ты - победоносная.
Обе будучи победительницами,
Победим мы мою соперницу.

I am the conqueror, and thou, thou also art victorious:
As victory attends us both we will subdue my fellowwife.

I am overpowering, and thou, (O plant), art completely overpowering. Having both grown full of power, let us overpower my rival!

avś_03.018.06.

अभि॒ ते ऽधां स॒हमानाम् उ॒प ते ऽधां स॒हीयसीम् ।
मा॒म् अ॒नु प्र॒ ते म॒नो वत्सं॒ गौ॒र् इव धावतु पथा॒ वा॒र् इव धावतु ॥६॥

abhí te 'dhāṃ sáhamānām úpa te 'dhāṃ sáhīyasīm |
mā́m ánu prá te máno vatsáṃ gáur iva dhāvatu pathā́ vā́r iva dhāvatu ||6||

Подложила я тебе побеждающую (траву), Обложила я тебя (этой) очень победной. Вслед за мной пусть бежит твоя мысль, Как корова - за теленком, Пусть бежит, как вода по дороге!

I've girt thee with the conquering Plant, beneath thee laid the
mightiest one.
As a cow hastens to her calf, so let thy spirit speed to me,
hasten like water on its way.

About thee (my husband) I have placed the overpowering (plant), upon thee placed the very overpowering one. May thy mind run after me as a calf after the cow, as water along its course!
