avś_03.028.01.

ए॒कैकयैषा॒ सृ॒ष्ट्या सं॒ बभूव य॒त्र गा॒ अ॒सृजन्त भूतकृ॒तो विश्व॒रूपाः ।
य॒त्र विजा॒यते यमि॒न्य् अपर्तुः॒ सा॒ पशू॒न् क्षिणाति रिफती॒ रु॒शती ॥१॥

ékaikayaiṣā́ sŕ̥ṣṭyā sáṃ babhūva yátra gā́ ásr̥janta bhūtakŕ̥to viśvárūpāḥ |
yátra vijā́yate yamíny apartúḥ sā́ paśū́n kṣiṇāti riphatī́ rúśatī ||1||

Она произошла на свет зачатием у одной от одного
(Там), где творцы существ создали коров разного вида.
Где она телится двойней без времени,
(Там) губит она скот, хрипящая, отвратительная.

This cow was born to bring forth offspring singly, though they
created kine of every colour.
When she produces twins in spite of Order, sullen, with groan
and grudge she harms the cattle.

Through one creation at a time this (cow) was born, when the fashioners of the beings did create the cows of many colours. (Therefore), when a cow doth beget twins portentously, growling and cross she injureth the cattle.

avś_03.028.02.

एषा॒ पशू॒न्त् सं॒ क्षिणाति क्रव्या॒द् भूत्वा॒ व्य॒द्वरी ।
उतै॒नां ब्रह्म॒णे दद्यात् त॒था स्योना॒ शिवा॒ स्यात् ॥२॥

eṣā́ paśū́nt sáṃ kṣiṇāti kravyā́d bhūtvā́ vyádvarī |
utáināṃ brahmáṇe dadyāt táthā syonā́ śivā́ syāt ||2||

Она губит скот полностью,
Став пожирательницей мяса, хищницей,
А если отдать ее брахману,
Тогда будет она кроткой, благосклонной.

She brings destruction on the beasts, turned to a flesh-devouring
worm.
Yes, give her to the Brāhman that she may bring luck and
happiness.

This (cow) doth injure our cattle: a flesh-eater, devourer, she hath become. Hence to a Brahman he shall give her; in this way she may be kindly and auspicious!

avś_03.028.03.

शिवा॒ भव पु॒रुषेभ्यो गो॒भ्यो अ॒श्वेभ्यः शिवा॒ ।
शिवा॒स्मै॒ स॒र्वस्मै क्षे॒त्राय शिवा॒ न इहै॒धि ॥३॥

śivā́ bhava púruṣebhyo góbhyo áśvebhyaḥ śivā́ |
śivā́smái sárvasmai kṣétrāya śivā́ na iháidhi ||3||

Будь благосклонной к людям,
К коровам, к коням благосклонна, Благосклонна ко всему этому полю, Будь благосклонна к нам здесь!

Be thou auspicious to our folk, bring luck to horses and to kine.
Auspicious unto all this farm, bring luck and happiness to us.

Auspicious be to (our) men, auspicious to (our) cows and horses, auspicious to this entire field, auspicious be to us right here!

avś_03.028.04.

इह॒ पु॒ष्टिर् इह॒ र॒स इह॒ सहस्रसा॒तमा भव ।
पशू॒न् यमिनि पोषय ॥४॥

ihá púṣṭir ihá rása ihá sahasrasā́tamā bhava |
paśū́n yamini poṣaya ||4||

Здесь процветание, здесь сок -
Здесь стань лучшей добытчицей тысячи!
О телящаяся двойней, дай скоту процветание!

Let there be rain and increase here, here be thou most munifi-
cient.
Mother of twins, prosper our herd.

Here be prosperity, licre be sap! Be thou here one that especially gives a thousandfold! Make the cattle prosper, thou mother of twins!

avś_03.028.05.

य॒त्रा सुहा॒र्दः सुकृ॒तो म॒दन्ति विहा॒य रो॒गं तन्वः॑ स्वा॒याः ।
तं॒ लोकं॒ यमि॒न्य् अभिसं॒बभूव सा॒ नो मा॒ हिंसीत् पु॒रुषान् पशूं॒श् च ॥५॥

yátrā suhā́rdaḥ sukŕ̥to mádanti vihā́ya rógaṃ tanvàḥ svā́yāḥ |
táṃ lokáṃ yamíny abhisáṃbabhūva sā́ no mā́ hiṃsīt púruṣān paśū́ṃś ca ||5||

Где пируют добрые сердцем, добрые делом,
Отбросив болезнь своего тела, -
В тот мир явилась на свет телящаяся двойней. Да не принесет она вреда нашим людям и скоту!

Where, having left all sickness of their bodies, the pious lead, as
friends, their lives of gladness
Nigh to that world approached the twin calves' mother. Let her
not harm our people and our cattle.

Where our pious friends live joyously, having left behind the ailments of their bodies, to that world the mother of twins did attain: may she not injure our men and our cattle!

avś_03.028.06.

य॒त्रा सुहा॒र्दां सुकृ॒ताम् अग्निहोत्रहु॒ताम् य॒त्र लोकः॒ ।
तं॒ लोकं॒ यमि॒न्य् अभिसं॒बभूव सा॒ नो मा॒ हिंसीत् पु॒रुषान् पशूं॒श् च ॥६॥

yátrā suhā́rdāṃ sukŕ̥tām agnihotrahútām yátra lokáḥ |
táṃ lokáṃ yamíny abhisáṃbabhūva sā́ no mā́ hiṃsīt púruṣān paśū́ṃś ca ||6||

Где (мир) добрых сердцем, добрых делом, Где мир приносящих жертвы огню - В тот мир явилась на свет телящаяся двойней. Да не принесет она вреда нашим людям и скоту!

Where lies the world of those dear friends, the pious, those who
have brought due sacrifice to Agni
Nigh to that world approached the twins calves' mother. Let her
not harm our people and our cattle.

Where is the world of our pious friends, where the world of thern that sacrifice with the agnihotra, to that world the mother of twins did attain: may she not injure our imen and our cattle!
