avś_05.022.01.
अग्नि॒स् तक्मा॒नम् अ॒प बाधताम् इतः॒ सो॒मो ग्रा॒वा व॒रुणः पूत॒दक्षाः ।
वे॒दिर् बर्हिः॒ समि॒धः शो॒शुचाना अ॒प द्वे॒षांस्य् अमुया॒ भवन्तु ॥१॥
agnís takmā́nam ápa bādhatām itáḥ sómo grā́vā váruṇaḥ pūtádakṣāḥ |
védir barhíḥ samídhaḥ śóśucānā ápa dvéṣāṃsy amuyā́ bhavantu ||1||
Да прогонит Агни прочь отсюда лихорадку!
(Да прогонят ее) Сома, давильный камень, Варуна,
чистый помыслами, Алтарь, жертвенная солома, ярко пылающие дрова! Да исчезнут прочь проявления враждебности!
Hence, filled with holy strength let Agni, Soma, and Varuna,
the Press-stone, and the Altar.
And Grass, and glowing Fuel banish Fever. Let hateful things
stay at a distance yonder.
May Agni drive the takman away from here, may Soma, the press-stone, and Varuna, of tried skill; may the altar, the straw (upon the altar), and the brightly-flaming fagots (drive him away)! Away to naught shall go the hateful powers!
avś_05.022.02.
अयं॒ यो॒ वि॒श्वान् ह॒रितान् कृणो॒ष्य् उच्छोच॒यन्न् अग्नि॒र् इवाभिदुन्व॒न् ।
अ॒धा हि॒ तक्मन्न् अरसो॒ हि॒ भूया॒ अ॒धा न्य॑ङ्ङ् अधरा॒न् वा प॒रेहि ॥२॥
ayáṃ yó víśvān háritān kr̥ṇóṣy ucchocáyann agnír ivābhidunván |
ádhā hí takmann arasó hí bhūyā́ ádhā nyàṅṅ adharā́n vā párehi ||2||
А теперь, лихорадка, (ты), что делаешь всех желтыми,
Обжигая, как опаляющий огонь,
Стань полностью лишенной сока, А затем отправляйся поглубже вниз!
And thou thyself who makest all men yellow, consuming them
with burning heat like Agni,
Thou, Fever! then be weak and ineffective. Pass hence into the
realms below or vanish.
Thou that makest all men sallow, inflarning them like a searing fire, even now, O takman, thou shalt become void of strength: do thou now go away down, aye, into the depths!
avś_05.022.03.
यः॒ परुषः॒ पारुषेयो॒ ऽवध्वंस॒ इवारुणः॒ ।
तक्मा॒नं विश्वधावीर्याधरा॒ञ्चं प॒रा सुवा ॥३॥
yáḥ paruṣáḥ pāruṣeyó 'vadhvaṃsá ivāruṇáḥ |
takmā́naṃ viśvadhāvīryādharā́ñcaṃ párā suvā ||3||
Ту, что пятнистая-распятнистая,
Словно красным припудренная,
О раскинувшая повсюду (свою) силищу, Прогони (эту) лихорадку вниз!
Endowed with universal power! send Fever down-ward, far
away,
The spotty, like red-coloured dust, sprung from a spotty
ancestor.
The takman that is spotted, covered Nvith spots, like reddish sediment, him thou, (O plant) of unremitting potency, drive away down below!
avś_05.022.04.
अधरा॒ञ्चम् प्र॒ हिणोमि॒ न॒मः कृत्वा॒ तक्म॒ने ।
शकम्भर॒स्य मुष्टिहा॒ पु॒नर् एतु महावृषा॒न् ॥४॥
adharā́ñcam prá hiṇomí námaḥ kr̥tvā́ takmáne |
śakambharásya muṣṭihā́ púnar etu mahāvr̥ṣā́n ||4||
Вниз я (ее) отсылаю,
Сделав лихорадке поклон.
Та, что сразила врукопашную Шакамбхару, Да уйдет она снова к махавришам!
When I have paid obeisance to Fever I send him downward
forth.
So let Sakambhara's boxer go again to the Mahāvrishas.
Having made obeisance to the takman, I cast him down below: let him, the champion of Sakambhara, return again to the Mahāvrishas!
avś_05.022.05.
ओ॒को अस्य मू॒जवन्त ओ॒को अस्य महावृषाः॒ ।
या॒वज् जात॒स् तक्मंस् ता॒वान् असि ब॒ल्हिकेषु न्योचरः॒ ॥५॥
óko asya mū́javanta óko asya mahāvr̥ṣā́ḥ |
yā́vaj jātás takmaṃs tā́vān asi bálhikeṣu nyocaráḥ ||5||
Ее дом - муджаваты,
Ее дом - махавриши.
Только родилась ты, лихорадка,
Сразу стала ты как дома среди бальхиков.
His mansions are the Mūjavans, and the Mahāvrishas his home,
Thou, Fever, ever since thy birth hast lived among the Bahlikas.
His home is with the Mūgavants, his home with the Mahāvrishas. From the moment of thy birth thou art indigenous with the Balhikas.
avś_05.022.06.
त॒क्मन् व्या॑ल वि॒ गद व्य॑ङ्ग भू॒रि यावय ।
दासीं॒ निष्ट॒क्वरीम् इछ ता॒म् व॒ज्रेण स॒म् अर्पय ॥६॥
tákman vyā̀la ví gada vyàṅga bhū́ri yāvaya |
dāsī́ṃ niṣṭákvarīm icha tā́m vájreṇa sám arpaya ||6||
Лихорадка коварная, отзовись (?)!
(Ты), приставучая, держись как можно дальше! Ищи убегающую рабыню - На неё нашли удар грома!
Fever, snake, limbless one, speak out! Keep thyself far away
fi om us.
Seek thou a wanton Dāst girl and strike her with thy thunder-
bolt.
O takman, vyāla, vīgada, vyānga, hold off (thy missile) far! Seek the gadabout slave-girl, strike her with thy bolt!
avś_05.022.07.
त॒क्मन् मू॒जवतो गछ ब॒ल्हिकान् वा परस्तरा॒म् ।
शूद्रा॒म् इछ प्रफर्व्यं॑ तां॒ तक्मन् वी॒व धूनुहि ॥७॥
tákman mū́javato gacha bálhikān vā parastarā́m |
śūdrā́m icha prapharvyàṃ tā́ṃ takman vī́va dhūnuhi ||7||
О лихорадка, иди к муджаватам Или подальше к бальхикам! Ищи похотливую шудрянку - Ее, лихорадка, немного потряси!
Go, Fever, to the Mūjavans, or, farther, to the Bahlikas.
Seek a lascivious Sara girl and seem to shake her through and
through.
O takman, go to the Mūgavants, or to the Balhikas farther away! Seek the lecherous Sūdra female: her, O takman, give a good shaking-up!
avś_05.022.08.
महावृषा॒न् मू॒जवतो ब॒न्ध्व् अद्धि परे॒त्य ।
प्रै॒ता॒नि तक्म॒ने ब्रूमो अन्यक्षेत्रा॒णि वा॒ इमा॒ ॥८॥
mahāvr̥ṣā́n mū́javato bándhv addhi parétya |
práitā́ni takmáne brūmo anyakṣetrā́ṇi vā́ imā́ ||8||
Уходя прочь, съешь (свою) родню: Махавришей (и) муджаватов.
Те поля мы предназначаем для лихорадки, Эти же - поля других.
Go hence and eat thy kinsmen the Mahāvrishas and Mūjavans.
These or those foreign regions we proclaim to Fever for his
home.
Go away to the Mahāvrishas and the Mūgavants, thy kinsfolk, and consume them! Those (regions) do we bespeak for the takman, or these regions here other (than ours).
avś_05.022.09.
अन्यक्षेत्रे॒ न॒ रमसे वशी॒ स॒न् मृडयासि नः ।
अ॒भूद् उ प्रा॒र्थस् तक्मा॒ स॒ गमिष्यति ब॒ल्हिकान् ॥९॥
anyakṣetré ná ramase vaśī́ sán mr̥ḍayāsi naḥ |
ábhūd u prā́rthas takmā́ sá gamiṣyati bálhikān ||9||
Ты не останешься в поле у других. Будучи послушной, помилуй нас! Лихорадка стала горящей желанием: Она уйдет к балхикам.
In a strange land thou joyest not; subdued, thou wilt be kind
to us.
Fever is eager to depart, and to the Bahlikas will go,
(If) in other regions thou dost not abide, mayest thou that art powerful take pity on us! Takman, now, has become eager: he will go to the Balhikas.
avś_05.022.10.
य॒त् त्वं॒ शीतो॒ ऽथो रूरः॒ सह॒ कासा॒वेपयः ।
भीमा॒स् ते तक्मन् हेत॒यस् ता॒भिः स्म प॒रि वृङ्ग्धि नः ॥१०॥
yát tváṃ śītó 'tho rūráḥ sahá kāsā́vepayaḥ |
bhīmā́s te takman hetáyas tā́bhiḥ sma pári vr̥ṅgdhi naḥ ||10||
Когда ты, холодная, а также жаркая, Вместе с кашлем сотрясла (этого человека), Страшны, о лихорадка, твои снаряды - Обойди же нас ими!
Since thou now cold, now burning hot, with cough besides, hast
made us shake,
Terrible, Fever, are thy darts: forbear to injure us with these.
When thou, being cold, and then again deliriously hot, accompanied by cough, didst cause the (sufferer) to shake, then, O takman, thy missiles were terrible: from these surely exempt us!
avś_05.022.11.
मा॒ स्मैता॒न्त् स॒खीन् कुरुथा बला॒सं कास॒म् उद्युग॒म् ।
मा॒ स्मा॒तोऽर्वा॒ङ् ऐः॒ पु॒नस् त॒त् त्वा तक्मन्न् उ॒प ब्रुवे ॥११॥
mā́ smaitā́nt sákhīn kuruthā balā́saṃ kāsám udyugám |
mā́ smā́to'rvā́ṅ áiḥ púnas tát tvā takmann úpa bruve ||11||
Не делай же ты их (своими) товарищами: Баласу, кашель, тряску (?)!
Не возвращайся же оттуда в наши края - Об этом я заклинаю тебя!
Take none of these to be thy friends, Cough, or Consumption
or Decline:
Never come thence again to us! O Fever, thus I counsel thee.
By no means ally thyself with balāsa, cough and spasm! From there do thou not return hither again: that, O takman, do I ask of thee!
avś_05.022.12.
त॒क्मन् भ्रा॒त्रा बला॒सेन स्व॒स्रा का॒सिकया सह॒ ।
पाप्मा॒ भ्रा॒तृव्येण सह॒ ग॒छामु॒म् अ॒रणं ज॒नम् ॥१२॥
tákman bhrā́trā balā́sena svásrā kā́sikayā sahá |
pāpmā́ bhrā́tr̥vyeṇa sahá gáchāmúm áraṇaṃ jánam ||12||
О лихорадка, вместе с братом-баласой,
С сестрой-кашлем,
С двоюродным братом - лишаем (?) Уходи к тому дальнему народу!
Go, Fever, with Consumption, thy brother, and with thy sister,
Cough.
And with thy nephew Herpes, go away unto that alien folk.
O takman, along with thy brother balāsa, along with thy sister cough, along with thy cousin pāman, go to yonder foreign folk!
avś_05.022.13.
तृ॒तीयकं वितृतीयं॒ सदन्दि॒म् उत॒ शारद॒म् ।
तक्मा॒नं शीतं॒ रूरं॒ ग्रै॒ष्मं नाशय वा॒र्षिकम् ॥१३॥
tŕ̥tīyakaṃ vitr̥tīyáṃ sadandím utá śāradám |
takmā́naṃ śītáṃ rūráṃ gráiṣmaṃ nāśaya vā́rṣikam ||13||
Уничтожь лихорадку, возвращающуюся на третий день,
На два дня из трех, постоянную,
Осеннюю, холодную (и) жаркую,
Возникающую в жаркое время (и) в период дождей.
Chase Fever whether cold or hot, brought by the summer or
the rains,
Tertian, intermittent, or autumnal, or continual.
Destroy the takman that returns on (each) third day, the one that intermits (each) third day, the one that continues without intermission, and the autumnal one; destroy the cold takman, the hot, him that comes in summer, and him that arrives in the rainy season!
avś_05.022.14.
गन्धा॒रिभ्यो मू॒जवद्भ्यो॒ ऽङ्गेभ्यो मग॒धेभ्यः ।
प्रैष्य॒न् ज॒नम् इव शेवधिं॒ तक्मा॒नं प॒रि दद्मसि ॥१४॥
gandhā́ribhyo mū́javadbhyó 'ṅgebhyo magádhebhyaḥ |
praiṣyán jánam iva śevadhíṃ takmā́naṃ pári dadmasi ||14||
Гандхари, муджаватам,
Ангам, магадхам
Мы вручаем лихорадку,
Как тот, кто посылает человеку драгоценность.
We to Gandhāris, Mūjavans, to Angas and to Magadhas.
Hand over Fever as it were a servant and a thing of price.
To the Gandhāris, the Māgavants, the Angas, and the Magadhas, we deliver over the takman, like a servant, like a treasure!
