यां॒ ते चक्रु॒र् आमे॒ पा॒त्रे यां॒ चक्रु॒र् मिश्र॒धान्ये ।
आमे॒ मांसे॒ कृत्यां॒ यां॒ चक्रुः॒ पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥१॥
yā́ṃ te cakrúr āmé pā́tre yā́ṃ cakrúr miśrádhānye |
āmé māṃsé kr̥tyā́ṃ yā́ṃ cakrúḥ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||1||
Что сотворили они для тебя в сыром сосуде,
Что сотворили они в перемешанных зернах,
То колдовство, что сотворили они в сыром мясе, - Его я забираю обратно!
The spell that they have cast for thee on unbaked dish or ming-
led meal,
The witchcraft wrought on undressed meat, this I strike back
again on them.
The spell which they have put for thee into an unburned vessel, that which they have put into mixed grain, that which they have put into raw meat, that do I hurl back again.
avś_05.031.02.
यां॒ ते चक्रुः॒ कृकवा॒काव् अजे॒ वा यां॒ कुरीरि॒णि ।
अ॒व्यां ते कृत्यां॒ या॒म् चक्रुः॒ पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥२॥
yā́ṃ te cakrúḥ kr̥kavā́kāv ajé vā yā́ṃ kurīríṇi |
ávyāṃ te kr̥tyā́ṃ yā́m cakrúḥ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||2||
Что сотворили они для тебя в петухе
Или что в рогатом (?) козле,
То колдовство, что сотворили они в овце, - Его я забираю обратно!
The spell that they have cast for thee on jungle-cock, goat,
horned ram,
The witchcraft wrought upon thy ewe, this I strike back again
on them.
The spell which they have put for thee into a cock, or that which (they have put) into a goat, into a crested animal, that which they have put into a sheep, that do I hurl back again.
avś_05.031.03.
यां॒ ते चक्रु॒र् ए॒कशफे पशूना॒म् उभया॒दति ।
गर्दभे॒ कृत्यां॒ यां॒ चक्रुः॒ पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥३॥
yā́ṃ te cakrúr ékaśaphe paśūnā́m ubhayā́dati |
gardabhé kr̥tyā́ṃ yā́ṃ cakrúḥ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||3||
Что сотворили они для тебя в однокопытном,
В том из (домашних) животных, у кого вверху и внизу резцы, То колдовство, что сотворили они в осле, - Его я забираю обратно!
The spell that they have cast upon thy beast that hath uncloven
hooves,
The ass with teeth in both his jaws, this I strike back again on
them.
The spell which they have put for thee into solipeds, into animals with teeth on both sides, that which they have put into an ass, that do I hurl back again.
avś_05.031.04.
यां॒ ते चक्रु॒र् अमूला॒यां वलगं॒ वा नराच्या॒म् ।
क्षे॒त्रे ते कृत्यां॒ यां॒ चक्रुः॒ पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥४॥
yā́ṃ te cakrúr amūlā́yāṃ valagáṃ vā narācyā́m |
kṣétre te kr̥tyā́ṃ yā́ṃ cakrúḥ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||4||
Что сотворили они для тебя в (растении) без корней, -
Тайный наговор в нарачи,
То колдовство, что сотворили они в поле, - Его я забираю обратно!
The secret spell upon thy plants Amūlā or Narāchi, spell
That they have cast upon thy field, this I strike back again on
them.
The magic which they have put for thee into moveable property, or into personal possession, the spell which they have put into the field, that do I hurl back again.
avś_05.031.05.
यां॒ ते चक्रु॒र् गा॒र्हपत्ये पूर्वाग्ना॒व् उत॒ दुश्चि॒तः ।
शा॒लायां कृत्यां॒ या॒म् चक्रुः॒ पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥५॥
yā́ṃ te cakrúr gā́rhapatye pūrvāgnā́v utá duścítaḥ |
śā́lāyāṃ kr̥tyā́ṃ yā́m cakrúḥ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||5||
Что сотворили они для тебя в очаге домохозяина,
А также в восточном костре, (эти) злоумышленники, То колдовство, что сотворили они в жилище, - Его я забираю обратно!
The spell that wicked men have cast on thine original household-
fire,
And on thy sacrificial hall, this I strike back again on them.
The spell which evil-scheming persons have put for thee into the gārhapatya-fire, or into the housefire, that which they have put -into the house, that do I hurl back again.
avś_05.031.06.
यां॒ ते चक्रुः॒ सभा॒यां या॒म् चक्रु॒र् अधिदे॒वने ।
अक्षे॒षु कृत्यां॒ यां॒ चक्रुः॒ पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥६॥
yā́ṃ te cakrúḥ sabhā́yāṃ yā́m cakrúr adhidévane |
akṣéṣu kr̥tyā́ṃ yā́ṃ cakrúḥ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||6||
Что сотворили они для тебя в собрании,
Что сотворили они на игорной доске,
То колдовство, что сотворили они в игральных костях, - Его я забираю обратно!
The spell that they have cast upon thy public room thy gambl-
ing-board,
Spell they have cast upon thy dice, this I strike back again on
them.
The spell which they have put for thee into the assembly-hall, that which (they have put) into the gaming-place, that which they have put into the dice, that do I hurl back again.
avś_05.031.07.
यां॒ ते चक्रुः॒ से॒नायां यां॒ चक्रु॒र् इष्वायुधे॒ ।
दुन्दुभौ॒ कृत्यां॒ यां॒ चक्रुः॒ पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥७॥
yā́ṃ te cakrúḥ sénāyāṃ yā́ṃ cakrúr iṣvāyudhé |
dundubháu kr̥tyā́ṃ yā́ṃ cakrúḥ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||7||
Что сотворили они для тебя в войске,
Что сотворили они в стрелах-и-оружии,
То колдовство, что сотворили они в барабане, - Его я забираю обратно!
The spell that they have cast upon thine army or thy shafts and
arms,
Spell they have cast upon the drum, this I throw back again on
them.
The spell which they have put for thee into the army, that which they have put into the arrow and the weapon, that which they have put into the drum, that do I hurl back again.
avś_05.031.08.
यां॒ ते कृत्या॒म् कू॒पे ऽवदधुः॒ श्मशाने॒ वा निचख्नुः॒ ।
स॒द्मनि कृत्या॒म् यां॒ चक्रुः॒ पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥८॥
yā́ṃ te kr̥tyā́m kū́pe 'vadadhúḥ śmaśāné vā nicakhnúḥ |
sádmani kr̥tyā́m yā́ṃ cakrúḥ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||8||
То колдовство, что опустили они для тебя в колодец
Или зарыли на кладбище,
То колдовство, что сотворили они в сиденье, - Его я забираю обратно!
Charm they have laid within thy well or buried in the burning-
ground,
Charm they have laid within thy home, this I throw back again
on them.
The spell which they have placed down for thee in the well, or have buried in the burial-ground, that which they have put into (thy) home, that do I hurl back again.
avś_05.031.09.
यां॒ ते चक्रुः॒ पुरुषास्थे॒ अग्नौ॒ सं॒कसुके च या॒म् ।
म्रोकं॒ निर्दाहं॒ क्रव्या॒दं पु॒नः प्र॒ति हरामि ता॒म् ॥९॥
yā́ṃ te cakrúḥ puruṣāsthé agnáu sáṃkasuke ca yā́m |
mrokáṃ nirdāháṃ kravyā́daṃ púnaḥ práti harāmi tā́m ||9||
Что сотворили они для тебя в человечьей кости
И что в разрушительном (погребальном) костре,
(То) прячущееся, сжигающее, пожирающее мясо, -
Его я забираю обратно!
The spell that they have wrought for thee in flickering fire of
human bones,—
Mroka, consuming, cannibal, this I throw back again on them.
That which they have put for thee into human bones, that which (they have put) into the funeral fire, to the consuming, burning, flesh-eating fire do I hurl that back again.
avś_05.031.10.
अ॒पथेना॒ जभारैनां तां॒ पथे॒तः॒ प्र॒ हिण्मसि ।
अ॒धीरो मर्याधी॒रेभ्यः सं॒ जभारा॒चित्त्या ॥१०॥
ápathenā́ jabhāraināṃ tā́ṃ pathétáḥ prá hiṇmasi |
ádhīro maryādhī́rebhyaḥ sáṃ jabhārā́cittyā ||10||
Он принес его не путем.
Путем мы отправляем его отсюда.
О люди, от недомыслия
Снес он, неразумный, (его) к разумным!
He brought this by no proper path, by the right path we drive it
back.
The fool in folly brought it to those who observe established
bounds.
By an unbeaten path he has brought it (the spell) hither, by a (beaten) path we drive it out from here. The fool in his folly has prepared (the spell) aorainst those that are surely wise.
avś_05.031.11.
य॒श् चका॒र न॒ शशा॒क क॒र्तुं शश्रे॒ पा॒दम् अङ्गु॒रिम् ।
चका॒र भद्र॒म् अस्म॒भ्यम् अभगो॒ भ॒गवद्भ्यः ॥११॥
yáś cakā́ra ná śaśā́ka kártuṃ śaśré pā́dam aṅgúrim |
cakā́ra bhadrám asmábhyam abhagó bhágavadbhyaḥ ||11||
Кто сделал, не смог сделать. Он раздробил себе ногу, палец. Он сделал нам добро, Несчастный - счастливым.
No power had he who wrought the spell: he hurt his foot, he
broke his toe.
Unlucky for his wealthy lords, he hath wrought happiness for us.
He that has undertaken it has not been able to accomplish it: he broke his foot, his toe. He, luckless, performed an auspicious act for us, that are lucky.
avś_05.031.12.
कृत्याकृ॒तं वलगि॒नं मूलि॒नं शपथेय्य॑म् ।
इ॒न्द्रस् तं॒ हन्तु महता॒ वधे॒नाग्नि॒र् विध्यत्व् अस्त॒या ॥१२॥
kr̥tyākŕ̥taṃ valagínaṃ mūlínaṃ śapatheyyàm |
índras táṃ hantu mahatā́ vadhénāgnír vidhyatv astáyā ||12||
Сотворившего колдовство, тайный наговор, Имеющего корень, достойного проклятий - Да убьет его Индра великим оружием,
Да пронзит его Агни выпущенной (стрелой)!
May Indra slay with mighty bolt, may Agni with his missible
pierce.
The sorcerer who brings the curse, who deals with roots and
secret spells.
Him that fashions spells, practises magic, digs after roots, sends out curses, Indra, shall slay with his mighty weapon, Agni shall pierce with his hurled (arrow)!
