अस्थिस्रंसं॒ परुस्रंस॒म् आ॒स्थितम् हृदयामय॒म् ।
बला॒सं स॒र्वं नाशयाङ्गेष्ठा॒ य॒श् च प॒र्वसु ॥१॥

asthisraṃsáṃ parusraṃsám ā́sthitam hr̥dayāmayám |
balā́saṃ sárvaṃ nāśayāṅgeṣṭhā́ yáś ca párvasu ||1||

Разымающую члены, разымающую суставы,
Угнездившуюся болезнь сердца -
Всю баласу заставь исчезнуть:
(И которая) находится в членах, и которая - в суставах.

Remove thou all Decline that lurks within the members and the
joints,
The firmly-settled heart-disease that racks the bones and rends
the limbs.

The internal disease that has set in, that crumbles the bones, and crumbles the joints, every balāsa do thou drive out, that which is in the limbs, and in the joints!

avś_06.014.02.

नि॒र् बला॒सं बलासि॒नः क्षिणो॒मि मुष्करं॒ यथा ।
छिन॒द्म्य् अस्य ब॒न्धनं मू॒लम् उर्वार्वा॒ इव ॥२॥

nír balā́saṃ balāsínaḥ kṣiṇómi muṣkaráṃ yathā |
chinádmy asya bándhanaṃ mū́lam urvārvā́ iva ||2||

Баласу у больного баласой
Я уничтожаю как мушкару.
Я отрезаю ее привязь, Как корень у тыквы.

From the consumptive man I pluck Decline as 'twere a severed
part.
I cut the bond that fetters him, even as a root of cucumber.

The balāsa of him that is afflicted with balāsa do I remove, as one gelds a lusty animal. Its connection do I cut off as the root of a pumpkin.

avś_06.014.03.

नि॒र् ब॒लासेतः॒ प्र॒ पताशुङ्गः॒ शिशुको॒ यथा ।
अ॒थो इ॒त इव हायनो॒ ऽप द्राह्य् अ॒वीरहा ॥३॥

nír bálāsetáḥ prá patāśuṅgáḥ śiśukó yathā |
átho íta iva hāyanó 'pa drāhy ávīrahā ||3||

Вылетай отсюда, о баласа, Как молоденький ашунга! Так несись же отсюда Как прошлогодний камыш, не убивая героев!

Begone, Consumption, hence away, like a young foal that runs.
at speed.
Then, not pernicious to our men, flee, yearly visitant like grass!

Fly forth from here, O balāsa, as a swift foal (after the mare). And even, as the reed in every year, pass away without slaying men!
