ईर्ष्या॒या ध्रा॒जिं प्रथमां॒ प्रथम॒स्या उता॒पराम् ।
अग्निं॒ हृदय्यं॑ शो॒कं तं॒ ते नि॒र् वापयामसि ॥१॥

īrṣyā́yā dhrā́jiṃ prathamā́ṃ prathamásyā utā́parām |
agníṃ hr̥dayyàṃ śókaṃ táṃ te nír vāpayāmasi ||1||

Первый приступ ревности И следующий за первым, Огонь, сердечную муку - Это мы гасим для тебя!

The first approach of Jealousy, and that which followeth the
first,
The pain, the fire that burns within thy heart we quench and
drive away.

The first impulse of jealousy, moreover the one that comes after the first, the fire, the heart-burning, that do wc waft away from thee.

avś_06.018.02.

य॒था भू॒मिर् मृत॒मना मृता॒न् मृत॒मनस्तरा ।
य॒थोत॒ मम्रु॒षो म॒न एवे॒र्ष्यो॒र् मृतं॒ म॒नः ॥२॥

yáthā bhū́mir mr̥támanā mr̥tā́n mr̥támanastarā |
yáthotá mamrúṣo mána evérṣyór mr̥táṃ mánaḥ ||2||

Как земля - с мертвым чувством,
С более мертвым чувством, чем у мертвого,
И как чувство у умершего,
Так у ревнивого (пусть будет) чувство мертвым!

Even as the earth is dead to sense, yea, more unconscious than
the dead,
Even as a corpse's spirit is the spirit of the jealous man.

As the earth is dead in spirit, in spirit more dead than the dead, and as the spirit of him that has died, thus shall the spirit of the jealous (man) be dead!

avś_06.018.03.

अदो॒ य॒त् ते हृदि॒ श्रितं॒ मनस्कं॒ पतयिष्णुक॒म् ।
त॒तस् त ईर्ष्यां॒ मुञ्चामि नि॒र् ऊष्मा॒णं दृ॒तेर् इव ॥३॥

adó yát te hr̥dí śritáṃ manaskáṃ patayiṣṇukám |
tátas ta īrṣyā́ṃ muñcāmi nír ūṣmā́ṇaṃ dŕ̥ter iva ||3||

То бьющееся чувствишко,
Что нашло опору в сердце твоем, Эту ревность я оттуда выпускаю, Как горячий пар из мехов!

The thought that harbours in thy heart, the fluttering doubt
that dwells therein.
Yea, all thy jealousy, like heat born of the dance, I banish
thence.

Yon fluttering little spirit that has been fixed into thy heart, from it the jealousy do I remove, as air from a water-skin.
