मा॒ नो देवा अ॒हिर् वधीत् स॒तोकान्त् सह॒पुरुषान् ।
स॒म्यतं न॒ वि॒ ष्परद् व्या॒त्तं न॒ सं॒ यमन् न॒मो देवजने॒भ्यः ।

mā́ no devā áhir vadhīt sátokānt sahápuruṣān |
sámyataṃ ná ví ṣparad vyā́ttaṃ ná sáṃ yaman námo devajanébhyaḥ |

Да не убьет нас, о боги, змея
С (нашим) потомством, с (нашими) мужами! (Что) стиснуто, да не разомкнет! (Что) раскрыто, да не сомкнет! Поклон божественному роду!

Let not the serpent slay us, O Gods, with our children and our
folk.
Let it not close the opened mouth nor open that which now is
closed.

May the serpent, ye gods, not slay us along with our children and our men! The closed (jaw) shall not snap open, the open one not close! Reverence (be) to the divine folk!

avś_06.056.02.

न॒मो ऽस्त्व् असिता॒य न॒मस् ति॒रश्चिराजये ।
स्वजा॒य बभ्र॒वे न॒मो न॒मो देवजने॒भ्यः ॥२॥

námo 'stv asitā́ya námas tíraścirājaye |
svajā́ya babhráve námo námo devajanébhyaḥ ||2||

Да будет поклон черной, Поклон поперечно-полосатой, Гадюке коричневой поклон! Поклон божественному роду!

Be worship paid unto the black, worship to that with stripes
across!
To the brown viper reverence, reverence to the demon brood!

Reverence be to the black serpent, reverence to the one that is striped across! To the brown svaga reverence; reverence to the divine folk!

avś_06.056.03.

सं॒ ते हन्मि दता॒ दतः॒ स॒म् उ ते ह॒न्वा ह॒नू ।
सं॒ ते जिह्व॒या जिह्वां॒ स॒म् व् आस्ना॒ह आस्य॑म् ॥३॥

sáṃ te hanmi datā́ datáḥ sám u te hánvā hánū |
sáṃ te jihváyā jihvā́ṃ sám v āsnā́ha āsyàm ||3||

Я сбиваю тебе зубы зубом,
И с(биваю) тебе челюсти челюстью, (Я) с(биваю) тебе язык языком, А пасть с(биваю) тебе ртом, о змея!

I close together fangs with fang, I close together jaws with jaw.
I close together tongue with tongue, I close together mouth
with mouth.

I clap thy teeth upon thy teeth, and also thy jaw upon thy jaw; I press thy tongue against thy tongue, and close up, O serpent, thy mouth.
