yáthāyáṃ vāhó aśvinā samáiti sáṃ ca vártate |
evā́ mā́m abhí te mánaḥ samáitu sáṃ ca vartatām ||1||

Even as this ox, O Asvins, steps and turns together with his
mate,
So let thy fancy turn itself, come nearer, and unite with me.

As this draught animal, O ye Asvins, comes on, and proceeds, thus may thy soul come on, and proceed to me!

ā́háṃ khidāmi te máno rājāśváḥ pr̥ṣṭyā́m iva |
reṣmáchinnam yáthā tŕ̥ṇaṃ máyi te veṣṭatāṃ mánaḥ ||2||

I, as the shaft-horse draws the mare beside him, draw thee to
myself.
Like grass that storm and wind have rent, so be thy mind at-
tached to me!

I draw to myself thy mind, as the leading stallion the female side-horse. As the stalk of grass torn by the wind, thus shall thy mind fasten itself upon me!

ā́ñjanasya madúghasya kúṣṭhasya náladasya ca |
turó bhágasya hástābhyām anuródhanam úd bhare ||3||

Swiftly from Bhaga's hands I bear away a love-compelling charm
Of ointment and of sugar-cane, of Spikenard and the Kushtha
plant.

A coaxing mixture of salve, of sweet wood, of kushtha, and of spikenard, do I deftly pick out with the hands of Bhaga (good fortune).
