ति॒रश्चिराजेर् असिता॒त् पृ॒दाकोः प॒रि सं॒भृतम् ।
त॒त् कङ्क॒पर्वणो विष॒म् इयं॒ वीरु॒द् अनीनशत् ॥१॥
tíraścirājer asitā́t pŕ̥dākoḥ pári sáṃbhr̥tam |
tát kaṅkáparvaṇo viṣám iyáṃ vīrúd anīnaśat ||1||
(Что) собрано от поперечно-полосатой (змеи),
От черной, от гадюки -
Тот яд скорпиона (?) Уничтожило это растение.
Whether it came from viper, from black snake or snake with
transverse stripes,
Or Kankaparvan's bite, this herb hath made the poison power-
less.
The poison infused by the serpent that is striped across, by the black serpent, and by the adder; that poison of the kankaparvan ('with limbs like a comb,' scorpion) this plant has driven out.
avś_07.056.02.
इयं॒ वीरु॒न् म॒धुजाता मधुश्चु॒न् मधुला॒ मधूः॒ ।
सा॒ वि॒ह्रुतस्य भेषज्य् अ॒थो मशकज॒म्भनी ॥२॥
iyáṃ vīrún mádhujātā madhuścún madhulā́ madhū́ḥ |
sā́ víhrutasya bheṣajy átho maśakajámbhanī ||2||
Сладким рождено это растение,
Сладость источает, сладостно, сладко.
Оно - лекарство для поврежденного,
А также губительно для ядовитых насекомых.
Honey-born, honey-dropping, rich in honey, honeysweet, this
herb,
Is medicine that heals the wound and kills the gnat that bites
and stings.
This herb, born of honey, dripping honey, sweet as honey, honied, is the remedy for injuries; moreover it crushes insects.
avś_07.056.03.
य॒तो दष्टं॒ य॒तो धीतं॒ त॒तस् ते नि॒र् ह्वयामसि ।
अर्भ॒स्य तृप्रदंशि॒नो मश॒कस्यारसं॒ विष॒म् ॥३॥
yáto daṣṭáṃ yáto dhītáṃ tátas te nír hvayāmasi |
arbhásya tr̥pradaṃśíno maśákasyārasáṃ viṣám ||3||
Откуда откушено, откуда высосано, Оттуда для тебя мы (его) и вызываем. Яд маленького, больно жалящего Насекомого лишен сока!
Whatever bit, or sucked thy blood, we summon thence away
from thee
The ineffectual poison of the little sharply-stinging gnat.
Wherever thou hast been bitten, wherever thou hast been sucked, from there do we exorcise for thee the poison of the small, greedily biting insect, (so that it be) devoid of strength.
avś_07.056.04.
अयं॒ यो॒ वक्रो॒ वि॒परुर् व्य॑ङ्गो मु॒खानि वक्रा॒ वृजिना॒ कृणो॒षि ।
ता॒नि त्वं॒ ब्रह्मणस् पते इषी॒काम् इव सं॒ नमः ॥४॥
ayáṃ yó vakró víparur vyàṅgo múkhāni vakrā́ vr̥jinā́ kr̥ṇóṣi |
tā́ni tváṃ brahmaṇas pate iṣī́kām iva sáṃ namaḥ ||4||
Тот, кто закорючка,
Без суставов, без членов, - Ты строишь кривые подлые рожи. О Брахманаспати, разогни Ты их, как тростник!
Thou here who crookest wicked jaws, thou tortuous, jointless,
limbless thing,
These jaws thou, Brāhmanaspati! shalt bend together like a
reed.
Thou (serpent) here, crooked, without joints, and without limbs, that twisteth thy crooked jawsmayest thou, O Brihaspati, straighten them out, as a (bent) reed!
avś_07.056.05.
अरस॒स्य शर्को॒टस्य नीची॒नस्योपस॒र्पतः ।
विषं॒ ह्य् अ॑स्या॒दिष्य् अ॒थो एनम् अजीजभम् ॥५॥
arasásya śarkóṭasya nīcī́nasyopasárpataḥ |
viṣáṃ hy àsyā́diṣy átho enam ajījabham ||5||
У лишенного сока шаркоты,
У низко ползающего,
Я действительно отобрал у него яд, И вот я разгрыз его!
This scorpion here that creeps along, low on the ground and
powerless—
I have removed his poison and then utterly demolished him.
The poison of the sarkota (scorpion) that creeps low upon the ground, (after he) has been deprived of his strength, I have taken away; moreover I have caused him to be crushed.
avś_07.056.06.
न॒ ते बाह्वो॒र् ब॒लम् अस्ति न॒ शीर्षे॒ नो॒त॒ मध्यतः॒ ।
अ॒थ किं॒ पाप॒या ऽमुया॒ पु॒छे बिभर्ष्य् अर्भक॒म् ॥६॥
ná te bāhvór bálam asti ná śīrṣé nótá madhyatáḥ |
átha kíṃ pāpáyā 'muyā́ púche bibharṣy arbhakám ||6||
Ни в руках твоих силы нет, Ни в голове, ни в середине. Тогда что же это маленькое Ты так злобно несешь в хвосте?
No strength in thy two arms hast thou, nor in thy head, nor in
thy waist:
Then what is that small thing thou so viciously bearest in thy
tail?
There is no strength in thy arms, in thy head, nor in the middle (of thy body). Then why dost thou so wickedly carry a small (sting) in thy tail?
avś_07.056.07.
अद॒न्ति त्वा पिपी॒लिका वि॒ वृश्चन्ति मयूर्यः॑ ।
स॒र्वे भल ब्रवाथ शा॒र्कोटम् अरसं॒ विष॒म् ॥७॥
adánti tvā pipī́likā ví vr̥ścanti mayūryàḥ |
sárve bhala bravātha śā́rkoṭam arasáṃ viṣám ||7||
Едят тебя муравьи, Рвут на куски павы.
Да скажите же вы все наконец: "Яд шаркоты лишен сока"!
The emmets make a meal of thee and peahens tear and mangle
thee:
All ye are crying out, In sooth the scorpion's poison hath no
strength.
The ants devour thee, pea-hens hack thee to pieces. Yea, every one of you shall declare the poison of the sarkota powerless!
avś_07.056.08.
य॒ उभा॒भ्यां प्रह॒रसि पु॒छेन चास्ये॑न च ।
आस्ये॑ न॒ ते विषं॒ कि॒म् उ ते पुछधा॒व् असत् ॥८॥
yá ubhā́bhyāṃ prahárasi púchena cāsyèna ca |
āsyè ná te viṣáṃ kím u te puchadhā́v asat ||8||
Ты что разишь обоими:
И хвостом, и пастью -
Нет у тебя яда в пасти!
Как же будет (он) у тебя в сосуде в хвосте?
Thou creature who inflictest wounds both with thy mouth and
with thy tail,
No poison in thy mouth hast thou: what at thy tail's root will
there be?
Thou (scorpion) that strikest with both, with mouth as well as tail, in thy mouth there is no poison: then what can there be in the receptacle in thy tail?
