Rapidly dropping, quick to drop, more evil than the evil ones,
More sapless than a dried-up bone, swifter than salt to melt
away.

Ye (sores) fall easily from that which falls easily, ye exist less than those that do not exist (at all); ye are drier than the (part of the body called) sehu, more moist than salt.

Pustules that rise upon the neck, Pustules upon the shoulder-
joints,
Pustules that, falling of themselves, spring up on every twofold
limb:

The apakit (sores) that are upon the neck, and those that are upon the shoulders; the apakit that are upon the vigāman (some part of the body) fall off of themselves.

I have expelled and banished all Scrofula harboured in the head,
And that which bores the breast-bone through, and that which
settles in the sole.

The gāyānya that crushes the ribs, that which passes down to the sole of the foot, and whichever is fixed upon the crown of the head, I have driven out every one.

Scrofula flies borne on by wings: it penerates and holds the
man.
Here is the cure of either kind, the chronic and the transient.

The gāyānya, winged, flies; he settles down upon man. Here is the remedy both for sores not caused by cutting as well as for wounds sharply cut!

We know thine origin, Scrofula! know whence thou, Scrofula,
art born.
How hast thou then struck this man here, him in whose house
we sacrifice?

We know, O gāyānya, thy origin, whence thou didst spring. How canst thou slay there, in whose house we offer oblations?

Boldly drink Soma from the beaker, Indra! hero in war for
treasure! Vritra-slayer.
Fill thyself full at the mid-day libation: thyself possessing riches
grant us riches.

Drink stoutly, O Indra, slayer of Vritra, hero, of the soma in the cup, at the battle for riches! Drink thy fill at the mid-day pressure! Living in wealth, do thou bestow wealth upon us!
