सपत्नह॒नम् ऋषभं॒ घृते॒न का॒मं शिक्षामि हवि॒षा॒ज्येन ।
नीचैः॒ सप॒त्नान् म॒म पदय त्व॒म् अभि॒ष्टुतो महता॒ वीर्ये॑ण ॥१॥
sapatnahánam r̥ṣabháṃ ghr̥téna kā́maṃ śikṣāmi havíṣā́jyena |
nīcáiḥ sapátnān máma padaya tvám abhíṣṭuto mahatā́ vīryèṇa ||1||
Убивающего соперников быка Каму
Я хочу одарить жиром, возлиянием, жертвенным маслом.
Повергни ниц моих соперников,
Когда тебя прославили с великим мужеством!
Kāma the Bull, slayer of foes, I worship with molten butter,
sacrifice, oblation.
Beneath my feet cast down mine adversaries with thy great
manly power, when I have praised thee.
To the bull that slays the enemy, to Kāma, do I render tribute with ghee, oblation, and (sacrificial) melted butter. Do thou, since thou hast been extolled, hurl down my enemies by thy great might!
avś_09.002.02.
य॒न् मे म॒नसो न॒ प्रियं॒ च॒क्षुषो य॒न् मे ब॒भस्ति ना॒भिन॒न्दति ।
त॒द् दुष्व॒प्न्यं प्र॒ति मुञ्चामि सप॒त्ने का॒मं स्तुत्वो॒द् अहं॒ भिदेयम् ॥२॥
yán me mánaso ná priyáṃ cákṣuṣo yán me bábhasti nā́bhinándati |
tád duṣvápnyaṃ práti muñcāmi sapátne kā́maṃ stutvód aháṃ bhideyam ||2||
Что неприятно для души моей, для зрения,
Что грызет меня, (а) не радует, —
(Этот) дурной сон я напускаю на соперника.
Да буду я пробиваться ввысь, восхвалив Каму!
That which is hateful to mine eye and spirit, that harasses and
robs me of enjoyment,
The evil dream I loose upon my foemen. May I rend him when
I have lauded Kāma.
The evil dream which is offensive to my mind and eye, which harasses and does not please me, that (dream) do I let loose upon my enemy. Having praised Kāma may I prevail!
avś_09.002.03.
दुष्व॒प्न्यं काम दुरितं॒ च कमाप्रज॒स्ताम् अस्वग॒ताम् अ॒वर्तिम् ।
उग्र॒ ई॒शानः प्र॒ति मुञ्च त॒स्मिन् यो॒ अस्म॒भ्यम् अंहूरणा॒ चि॒कित्सात् ॥३॥
duṣvápnyaṃ kāma duritáṃ ca kamāprajástām asvagátām ávartim |
ugrá ī́śānaḥ práti muñca tásmin yó asmábhyam aṃhūraṇā́ cíkitsāt ||3||
Дурной сон, о Кама, и опасность, о Кама,
Бездетность, бездомность, нужда,
О внушающий ужас владыка, напусти на того,
Кто будет замышлять бедствия для нас!
Kāma, do thou, a mighty Lord and Ruler, let loose ill dream,
misfortune, want of children,
Homelessness, Kāma! utter destitution, upon the sinner who
designs my ruin.
Evil dreams, O Kāma, and misfortune, O Kāma, childlessness, ill-health, and trouble, do thou, a strong lord, let loose upon him that designs evil against us!
avś_09.002.04.
नुद॒स्व काम प्र॒ णुदस्व कामा॒वर्तिं यन्तु म॒म ये॒ सप॒त्नाः ।
ते॒षां नुत्ता॒नाम् अधमा॒ त॒मांस्य् अ॒ग्ने वा॒स्तूनि नि॒र् दह त्व॒म् ॥४॥
nudásva kāma prá ṇudasva kāmā́vartiṃ yantu máma yé sapátnāḥ |
téṣāṃ nuttā́nām adhamā́ támāṃsy ágne vā́stūni nír daha tvám ||4||
Столкни, о Кама! Оттолкни прочь, о Кама!
Да впадут в нужду те, кто мои соперники!
Когда столкнут их в нижний мрак,
Сожги ты дотла (их) поселения, о Агни!
Drive them away, drive them afar, O Kāma; indigence fall on
those who are my foemen!
When they have been cast down to deepest darkness, consume
their dwellings with thy fire, O Agni.
Drive them away, O Kāma, thrust them away, O Kāma; may they that are my enemies fall into trouble! When they have been driven into the nethermost darkness, do thou, O Agni, burn up their d welling- places!
avś_09.002.05.
सा॒ ते काम दुहिता॒ धेनु॒र् उच्यते या॒म् आहु॒र् वा॒चं कव॒यो विरा॒जम् ।
त॒या सप॒त्नान् प॒रि वृङ्ग्धि ये॒ म॒म प॒र्य् एनान् प्राणः॒ पश॒वो जी॒वनं वृणक्तु ॥५॥
sā́ te kāma duhitā́ dhenúr ucyate yā́m āhúr vā́caṃ kaváyo virā́jam |
táyā sapátnān pári vr̥ṅgdhi yé máma páry enān prāṇáḥ paśávo jī́vanaṃ vr̥ṇaktu ||5||
Эта дочь твоя, о Кама, зовется дойной коровой,
О которой поэты говорят как о Речи, о Вирадж.
С ее помощью отвращай соперников, что (есть) у меня!
Да отвратится от них дыхание, скот, жизнь!
She, Kāma! she is called the Cow, thy daughter, she who is
named Vāk and Virāj by sages.
By her drive thou my foemen to a distance. May cattle, vital
breath, and life forsake them.
That milch-cow, O Kāma, whom the sages call Vāk Virāg (ruling, or resplendent speech), is said to be thy daughter; by her drive away my enemies; breath, cattle, and life shall give them a wide birth!
avś_09.002.06.
का॒मस्ये॒न्द्रस्य व॒रुणस्य रा॒ज्ञो वि॒ष्णोर् ब॒लेन सवितुः॒ सवे॒न ।
अग्ने॒र् होत्रे॒ण प्र॒ णुदे सप॒त्नां छम्बी॒व ना॒वम् उदके॒षु धी॒रः ॥६॥
kā́masyéndrasya váruṇasya rā́jño víṣṇor bálena savitúḥ savéna |
agnér hotréṇa prá ṇude sapátnāṃ chambī́va nā́vam udakéṣu dhī́raḥ ||6||
Силой Камы, Индры, царя Варуны,
Вишну, побуждением Савитара,
Службой хотара Агни я отталкиваю прочь соперников,
Как искусный перевозчик — лодку на воде.
By Kāma's might, King Varuna's and Indra's, by Vishnu's
strength, and Savitar's instigation,
I chase my foes with sacrifice to Agni, as a deft steersman drives
his boat through waters.
With the strength of Kāma, Indra, king Varuna, and Vishnu, with the impelling force (savena) of Savitar, with the priestly power of Agni, do I drive forth the enemies, as a skilled steersman a boat.
avś_09.002.07.
अ॒ध्यक्षो वाजी॒ म॒म का॒म उग्रः॒ कृणो॒तु म॒ह्यम् असपत्न॒म् एव॒ ।
वि॒श्वे देवा॒ म॒म नाथं॒ भवन्तु स॒र्वे देवा॒ ह॒वम् आ॒ यन्तु म इम॒म् ॥७॥
ádhyakṣo vājī́ máma kā́ma ugráḥ kr̥ṇótu máhyam asapatnám evá |
víśve devā́ máma nātháṃ bhavantu sárve devā́ hávam ā́ yantu ma imám ||7||
Пусть Кама, мой доблестный грозный надзиратель,
Создаст для меня свободу от соперников!
Все-Боги пусть станут мне прибежищем!
Пусть придут все боги на этот мой зов!
May Kāma, mighty one, my potent warder, give me full free-
dom from mine adversaries.
May all the Deities be my protection, all Gods come nigh to
this mine invocation.
My sturdy guardian, strong Kāma, shall procure for me full freedom from enmity! May the gods collectively be my refuge, may all the gods respond to this, my invocation!
avś_09.002.08.
इद॒म् आ॒ज्यं घृत॒वज् जुषाणाः॒ का॒मज्येष्ठा इह॒ मादयध्वम् ।
कृण्व॒न्तो म॒ह्यम् असपत्न॒म् एव॒ ॥८॥
idám ā́jyaṃ ghr̥távaj juṣāṇā́ḥ kā́majyeṣṭhā ihá mādayadhvam |
kr̥ṇvánto máhyam asapatnám evá ||8||
Наслаждаясь этим жертвенным маслом, богатым жиром,
С Камой во главе пируйте здесь,
Создавая для меня свободу от соперников!
Accepting this oblation rich with fatness, be joyful here, ye
Gods whose chief is Kāma,
Giving me freedom from mine adversaries.
Taking pleasure in this (sacrificial) melted butter, and ghee do ye, (O gods), of whom Kāma is the highest, be joyful in this place, procuring for me full freedom from enmity!
avś_09.002.09.
इन्द्राग्नी॒ काम सर॒थं हि॒ भूत्वा॒ नीचैः॒ सप॒त्नान् म॒म पादयाथः ।
ते॒षां पन्ना॒नाम् अधमा॒ त॒मांस्य् अ॒ग्ने वा॒स्तून्य् अनुनि॒र्दह त्व॒म् ॥९॥
indrāgnī́ kāma saráthaṃ hí bhūtvā́ nīcáiḥ sapátnān máma pādayāthaḥ |
téṣāṃ pannā́nām adhamā́ támāṃsy ágne vā́stūny anunírdaha tvám ||9||
О Индра-Агни, о Кама, став союзниками,
Да повергните вы ниц моих соперников!
Когда упадут они в нижний мрак,
Сожги ты дотла их поселения, о Агни!
Ye, Indra, Agni, Kāma! come together and cast mine adver-
saries down beneath me.
When they have sunk into the deepest darkness, O Agni, with
thy fire consume their dwellings.
O Indra and Agni, and Kāma, having formed an alliance, do ye hurl down my enemies; when they have fallen into the nethermost darkness, do thou, O Agni, burn up after them their dwelling places!
avś_09.002.10.
जहि॒ त्व॒म् काम म॒म ये॒ सप॒त्ना अन्धा॒ त॒मांस्य् अ॒व पादयैनान् ।
नि॒रिन्द्रिया अरसाः॒ सन्तु स॒र्वे मा॒ ते॒ जीविषुः कतम॒च् चना॒हः ॥१०॥ {३}
jahí tvám kāma máma yé sapátnā andhā́ támāṃsy áva pādayainān |
nírindriyā arasā́ḥ santu sárve mā́ té jīviṣuḥ katamác canā́haḥ ||10|| {3}
Убей ты, Кама, тех, кто мои соперники!
Повергни их ниц в слепой мрак!
Пусть станут все (они) без чувств, без сока!
Да не проживут они ни единого дня!
Slay those who are mine enemies, O Kāma: headlong to depth
of blinding darkness hurl them.
Reft be they all of manly strength and vigour! Let them not
have a single day's existence.
Slay thou, O Kāma, those that are my enemies, hurl them down into blind darkness. Devoid of vigour, Without sap let them all be; they shall not live a single day!
avś_09.002.11.
अ॒वधीत् का॒मो म॒म ये॒ सप॒त्ना उरुं॒ लोक॒म् अकरन् म॒ह्यम् एधतु॒म् ।
म॒ह्यं नमन्तां प्रदि॒शश् च॒तस्रो म॒ह्यं ष॒ड् उर्वी॒र् घृत॒म् आ॒ वहन्तु ॥११॥
ávadhīt kā́mo máma yé sapátnā urúṃ lokám akaran máhyam edhatúm |
máhyaṃ namantāṃ pradíśaś cátasro máhyaṃ ṣáḍ urvī́r ghr̥tám ā́ vahantu ||11||
Убил Кама (тех), кто мои соперники.
Широкий простор он создал мне, везение.
Да поклонятся мне четыре стороны света!
Да привезут мне жир шесть широких (пространств)!
Kāma hath slain those who were mine opponents, and given me
ample room to grow and prosper.
Let the four regions bow them down before me, and let the
six expanses bring me fatness.
Kāma has slain those that are my enemies, a broad space has he furnished me to thrive in. May the four directions of space bow down to me, and the six broad (regions) carry ghee to me!
avś_09.002.12.
ते॒ ऽधरा॒ञ्चः प्र॒ प्लवन्तां छिन्ना॒ नौ॒र् इव ब॒न्धनात् ।
न॒ सा॒यकप्रणुत्तानां पु॒नर् अस्ति निव॒र्तनम् ॥१२॥
té 'dharā́ñcaḥ prá plavantāṃ chinnā́ náur iva bándhanāt |
ná sā́yakapraṇuttānāṃ púnar asti nivártanam ||12||
Пусть уплывут они вниз,
Как лодка, отрезанная от привязи!
Для них, отброшенных стрелами,
Нет возврата назад.
Let them drift downward like a boat torn from the rope that
held it fast.
There is no turning back for those whom our keen arrows have
repelled.
They (the enemies) shall float down like a boat cut loose from its moorings! There is no returning again for those who have been struck by our missiles.
avś_09.002.13.
अग्नि॒र् य॒व इ॒न्द्रो य॒वः सो॒मो य॒वः ।
यवया॒वानो देवा॒ यवयन्त्व् एनम् ॥१३॥
agnír yáva índro yávaḥ sómo yávaḥ |
yavayā́vāno devā́ yavayantv enam ||13||
Агни-отстранитель, Индра-отстранитель, Сома-отстранитель,
Мощно отстраняющие боги пусть отстранят его!
Agni averts, Indra averts, and Soma: may the averting Gods
avert this foeman.
Agni is a defence, Indra a defence, Soma a defence. May the gods, who by their defence ward off (the enemy), ward him off!
avś_09.002.14.
अ॒सर्ववीरश् चरतु प्र॒णुत्तो द्वे॒ष्यो मित्रा॒नां परिवर्ग्यः॑ स्वा॒नाम् ।
उत॒ पृथिव्या॒म् अ॒व स्यन्ति विद्यु॒त उग्रो॒ वो देवः॒ प्र॒ मृणत् सप॒त्नान् ॥१४॥
ásarvavīraś caratu práṇutto dvéṣyo mitrā́nāṃ parivargyàḥ svā́nām |
utá pr̥thivyā́m áva syanti vidyúta ugró vo deváḥ prá mr̥ṇat sapátnān ||14||
Пусть побредет он с нецелыми мужами, отринутый,
(Тот), кого должны ненавидеть друзья, избегать родные!
А на земле остаются молнии.
Грозный бог пусть раздробит ваших соперников!
To be avoided by his friends, detested, repelled, with few men
round him, let him wander.
Yea, on the earth descend the lightning-flashes: may the strong
God destroy your adversaries.
With his men reduced, driven out, the hated (enemy) shall go, shunned by his own friends! And down upon the earth do the lightnings alight; may the strong god crush your enemies!
avś_09.002.15.
च्युता॒ चेयं॒ बृहत्य् अ॒च्युता च विद्यु॒द् बिभर्ति स्तनयित्नूं॒श् च स॒र्वान् ।
उद्य॒न्न् आदित्यो॒ द्र॒विणेन ते॒जसा नीचैः॒ सप॒त्नान् नुदतां मे स॒हस्वान् ॥१५॥
cyutā́ ceyáṃ br̥haty ácyutā ca vidyúd bibharti stanayitnū́ṃś ca sárvān |
udyánn ādityó dráviṇena téjasā nīcáiḥ sapátnān nudatāṃ me sáhasvān ||15||
Эта могучая молния распоряжается
Подвижными и неподвижными (предметами) и всеми громами.
Пусть Адитья, восходящий с богатством (и) блеском,
Столкнет вниз соперников моих, мощный!
This potent lightning nourishes things shaken, and things un-
shaken yet, and all the thunders.
May the Sun, rising with his wealth and splendour, drive in
victorious might my foemen downward.
This mighty lightning supports both moveable and immoveable things, as well as all thunders. May the rising sun by his resources and his majesty hurl down my enemies, lie the mighty one!
avś_09.002.16.
य॒त् ते काम श॒र्म त्रिव॒रूथम् उद्भु॒ ब्र॒ह्म व॒र्म वि॒ततम् अनतिव्याध्यं॑ कृत॒म् ।
ते॒न सप॒त्नान् प॒रि वृङ्ग्धि ये॒ म॒म प॒र्य् एनान् प्राणः॒ पश॒वो जी॒वनं वृणक्तु ॥१६॥
yát te kāma śárma trivárūtham udbhú bráhma várma vítatam anativyādhyàṃ kr̥tám |
téna sapátnān pári vr̥ṅgdhi yé máma páry enān prāṇáḥ paśávo jī́vanaṃ vr̥ṇaktu ||16||
Та твоя защита, о Кама, трояко прикрывающая, прочная,
Заговор, щит протянутый, сделанный неуязвимым, —
С ее помощью отвращай соперников, что (есть) у меня!
Да отвратится от них дыхание, скот, жизнь!
Thy firm and triply-barred protection, Kāma! thy spell, made
weapon-proof extended armour
With that drive thou my foemen to a distance. May cattle, vital
breath, and life forsake them.
With that triple-armoured powerful covering of thine, O Kāma, with the charm that has been made into an Invulnerate armour spread (over thee), with that do thou drive away those who are my enemies; may breath, cattle, and life give them a wide berth!
avś_09.002.17.
ये॒न देवा॒ अ॒सुरान् प्रा॒णुदन्त ये॒ने॒न्द्रो द॒स्यून् अधमं॒ त॒मो निना॒य ।
ते॒न त्वं॒ काम म॒म ये॒ सप॒त्नास् ता॒न् अस्मा॒ल् लोका॒त् प्र॒ णुदस्व दूर॒म् ॥१७॥
yéna devā́ ásurān prā́ṇudanta yénéndro dásyūn adhamáṃ támo ninā́ya |
téna tváṃ kāma máma yé sapátnās tā́n asmā́l lokā́t prá ṇudasva dūrám ||17||
(То), чем боги оттолкнули асуров,
Чем Индра свел дасью в нижний мрак, —
Этим ты, Кама, оттолкни далеко
Из этого мира тех, что мои соперники!
Far from the world wherein we live, O Kāma, drive thou my
foemen with that selfsame weapon
Wherewith the Gods repelled the fiends, and Indra cast down
the Dasyus into deepest darkness.
With the weapon with which the god drove forth the Asuras, with which Indra led the Dasyus to the nethermost darkness, with that do thou, O Kāma, drive forth far away from this world those who are my enemies!
avś_09.002.18.
य॒था देवा॒ अ॒सुरान् प्रा॒णुदन्त य॒थे॒न्द्रो द॒स्यून् अधमं॒ त॒मो बबाधे॒ ।
त॒था त्वं॒ काम म॒म ये॒ सप॒त्नास् ता॒न् अस्मा॒ल् लोका॒त् प्र॒ णुदस्व दूर॒म् ॥१८॥
yáthā devā́ ásurān prā́ṇudanta yáthéndro dásyūn adhamáṃ támo babādhé |
táthā tváṃ kāma máma yé sapátnās tā́n asmā́l lokā́t prá ṇudasva dūrám ||18||
Как боги оттолкнули асуров,
Как Индра прогнал дасью в нижний мрак,
Так ты, Кама, оттолкни далеко
Из этого мира тех, что мои соперники!
As Gods repelled the Asuras, and Indra down to the lowest
darkness drove the demons,
So, Kāma, from this world, to distant places, drive thou the
men who are mine adversaries.
As the gods drove forth the Asuras, as Indra. forced the demons into the nethermost darkness, thus do thou, O Kāma, drive forth far away from this world those who are my enemies!
avś_09.002.19.
का॒मो जज्ञे प्रथमो॒ नै॒नं देवा॒ आपुः पित॒रो न॒ म॒र्त्याः ।
त॒तस् त्व॒म् असि ज्या॒यान् विश्व॒हा महां॒स् त॒स्मै ते काम न॒म इ॒त् कृनोमि ॥१९॥
kā́mo jajñe prathamó náinaṃ devā́ āpuḥ pitáro ná mártyāḥ |
tátas tvám asi jyā́yān viśváhā mahā́ṃs tásmai te kāma náma ít kr̥nomi ||19||
Кама родился первым. Его не достигли
Ни боги, ни отцы, ни смертные,
Ты лучше них, всегда великий.
Тебе такому, Кама, я совершаю поклонение.
First before all sprang Kāma into being. Gods, Fathers, mortal
men have never matched him.
Stronger than these art thou, and great for ever. Kāma, to thee,
to thee I offer worship.
Kāma was born at first; him neither the gods, nor the Fathers, nor men have equalled. To these art thou superior, and ever great; to thee, O Kāma, do I verily offer reverence.
avś_09.002.20.
या॒वती द्या॒वापृथिवी॒ वरिम्णा॒ या॒वद् आ॒पः सिष्यदु॒र् या॒वद् अग्निः॒ ।
त॒तस् त्व॒म् असि ज्या॒यान् विश्व॒हा महां॒स् त॒स्मै ते काम न॒म इ॒त् कृणोमि ॥२०॥ {४}
yā́vatī dyā́vāpr̥thivī́ varimṇā́ yā́vad ā́paḥ siṣyadúr yā́vad agníḥ |
tátas tvám asi jyā́yān viśváhā mahā́ṃs tásmai te kāma náma ít kr̥ṇomi ||20|| {4}
Как ни огромны размером небо-и-земля,
Как ни растеклись воды, как — огонь,
Ты лучше них, всегда великий.
Тебе такому, Кама, я совершаю поклонение.
Wide as the space which heaven and earth encompass, far as
the flow of waters, far as Agni,
Stronger than these art thou, and great for ever. Kāma, to thee,
to thee I offer worship.
As great as are the heavens and earth in extent, as far as the waters have swept, as far as fire; to these art thou superior, &c.
avś_09.002.21.
या॒वतीर् दि॒शः प्रदि॒शो वि॒षूचीर् या॒वतीर् आ॒शा अभिच॒क्षणा दिवः॒ ।
त॒तस् त्व॒म् असि ज्या॒यान् विश्व॒हा महां॒स् त॒स्मै ते काम न॒म इ॒त् कृणोमि ॥२१॥
yā́vatīr díśaḥ pradíśo víṣūcīr yā́vatīr ā́śā abhicákṣaṇā diváḥ |
tátas tvám asi jyā́yān viśváhā mahā́ṃs tásmai te kāma náma ít kr̥ṇomi ||21||
Как ни раскинулись стороны света, промежуточные стороны,
Как ни огромны просторы, наблюдатели с неба,
Ты лучше них, всегда великий.
Тебе такому, Кама, я совершаю поклонение.
Vast as the quarters of the sky and regions that lie between
them spread in all directions, vast as celestial tracts and views
of heaven,
Stronger than these art thou, and great for ever. Kāma, to thee,
to thee I offer worship.
Great as are the directions (of space) and the intermediate direction on either side, great as are the regions and the vistas of the sky; to these art thou superior, &c.
avś_09.002.22.
या॒वतीर् भृ॒ङ्गा जत्वः॑ कुरू॒रवो या॒वतीर् व॒घा वृक्षसर्प्यो॑ बभूवुः॒ ।
त॒तस् त्व॒म् असि ज्या॒यान् विश्व॒हा महां॒स् त॒स्मै ते काम न॒म इ॒त् कृणोमि ॥२२॥
yā́vatīr bhŕ̥ṅgā jatvàḥ kurū́ravo yā́vatīr vághā vr̥kṣasarpyò babhūvúḥ |
tátas tvám asi jyā́yān viśváhā mahā́ṃs tásmai te kāma náma ít kr̥ṇomi ||22||
Сколько ни на есть пчел, летучих мышей, куруру,
Сколько ни стало вагха (и тех, кто) ползает по деревьям,
Ты лучше них, всегда великий.
Тебе такому, Кама, я совершаю поклонение.
Many as are the bees, and bats, and reptiles, and female serpents
of the trees, and beetles,
Stronger art thou than these, and great for ever. Kāma, to thee,
to thee I offer worship.
As many bees, bats, kurūru-worms, as many vaghas and tree-serpents as there are; to these art thou superior, &c.
avś_09.002.23.
ज्या॒यान् निमिषतो॒ ऽसि ति॒ष्ठतो ज्या॒यान्त् समुद्रा॒द् असि काम मन्यो ।
त॒तस् त्व॒म् असि ज्या॒यान् विश्व॒हा महां॒स् त॒स्मै ते काम न॒म इ॒त् कृनोमि ॥२३॥
jyā́yān nimiṣató 'si tíṣṭhato jyā́yānt samudrā́d asi kāma manyo |
tátas tvám asi jyā́yān viśváhā mahā́ṃs tásmai te kāma náma ít kr̥nomi ||23||
Ты лучше моргающего, стоя́щего,
Лучше океана, о Кама-неистовство.
Ты лучше них, всегда великий.

Stronger art thou than aught that stands or twinkles, stronger
art thou than ocean, Kāma! Manyu!
Stronger than these art thou, and great for ever. Kāma, to thee,
to thee I offer worship.
Superior art thou to all that winks (lives), superior to all that stands still (is not alive), superior to the ocean art thou, O Kāma, Manyu! To these art thou superior, &c.

न॒ वै॒ वा॒तश् चन॒ का॒मम् आप्नोति ना॒ग्निः॒ सू॒र्यो नो॒त॒ चन्द्र॒माः ।
त॒तस् त्व॒म् असि ज्या॒यान् विश्व॒हा महां॒स् त॒स्मै ते काम न॒म इ॒त् कृणोमि ॥२४॥
ná vái vā́taś caná kā́mam āpnoti nā́gníḥ sū́ryo nótá candrámāḥ |
tátas tvám asi jyā́yān viśváhā mahā́ṃs tásmai te kāma náma ít kr̥ṇomi ||24||
В самом деле, никакой ветер не достигнет Камы,
Ни огонь, ни солнце, ни луна.
Ты лучше них, всегда великий.
Тебе такому, Кама, я совершаю поклонение.
Not even Vāta is the peer of Kāma, not Agni, Chandramas
the Moon, nor Sūrya.
Stronger than these art thou, and great for ever. Kāma, to thee,
to thee I offer worship.
Not, surely, does the wind equal Kāma, not the fire, not the sun, and not the moon. To these art thou superior, &c.

या॒स् ते शिवा॒स् तन्वः॑ काम भद्रा॒ या॒भिः सत्यं॒ भ॒वति य॒द् वृणिषे॒ ।
ता॒भिष् ट्व॒म् अस्मां॒ अभिसं॒विशस्वान्य॒त्र पापी॒र् अ॒प वेशया धि॒यः ॥२५॥ {५}
yā́s te śivā́s tanvàḥ kāma bhadrā́ yā́bhiḥ satyáṃ bhávati yád vr̥ṇiṣé |
tā́bhiṣ ṭvám asmā́m̐ abhisáṃviśasvānyátra pāpī́r ápa veśayā dhíyaḥ ||25|| {5}
Какие у тебя благоприятные замечательные тела, Кама,
Благодаря которым (все), что ты выбираешь, сбывается,
С их помощью проникни ты в нас до конца!
Загони злые умыслы прочь, в другое место!
Thy lovely and auspicious forms, O Kāma, whereby the thing
thou wilt becometh real,
With these come thou and make thy home among us, and make
malignant thoughts inhabit elsewhere.
With those auspicious and gracious forms of thine, O Kāma, through which what thou wilst becometh reaL with these do thou enter into us, and elsewhere send the evil thoughts!
