भ॒वाशर्वौ मृड॒तं मा॒भि॒ यातं भू॒तपती प॒शुपती न॒मो वाम् ।
प्र॒तिहिताम् आ॒यतां मा॒ वि॒ स्राष्टं मा॒ नो हिंसिष्टं द्विप॒दो मा॒ च॒तुष्पदः ॥१॥
bhávāśarvau mr̥ḍátaṃ mā́bhí yātaṃ bhū́tapatī páśupatī námo vām |
prátihitām ā́yatāṃ mā́ ví srāṣṭaṃ mā́ no hiṃsiṣṭaṃ dvipádo mā́ cátuṣpadaḥ ||1||
О Бхава-и-Шарва, смилуйтесь! Не выступайте против (нас)!
Повелители существ, повелители скота, поклонение вам!
Вложенную, натянутую (стрелу) не выпускайте!
Не повредите ни наших двуногих, ни четвероногих!
Bhava and Sarva, spare us, be not hostile. Homage to you, twin
Lords of beasts and spirits!
Shoot not the arrow aimed and drawn against us: forbear to
harm our quadrupeds and bipeds.
O Bhava and Sarva, be merciful, do not attack (us); ye lords of beings, lords of cattle, reverence be to you twain! Discharge not your arrow even after it has been laid on (the bow), and has been drawn! Destroy not our bipeds and our quadrupeds!
avś_11.002.02.
शु॒ने क्रोष्ट्रे॒ मा॒ श॒रीराणि क॒र्तम् अलि॒क्लवेभ्यो गृ॒ध्रेभ्यो ये॒ च कृष्णा॒ अविष्य॒वः ।
म॒क्षिकास् ते पशुपते व॒यांसि ते विघसे॒ मा॒ विदन्त ॥२॥
śúne kroṣṭré mā́ śárīrāṇi kártam alíklavebhyo gŕ̥dhrebhyo yé ca kr̥ṣṇā́ aviṣyávaḥ |
mákṣikās te paśupate váyāṃsi te vighasé mā́ vidanta ||2||
Не сделайте (наши) тела (добычей) для собаки, шакала,
Для стервятников, коршунов
И (тех), что черные и жадные.
Пусть мухи твои, о повелитель скота,
Птицы твои не найдут себе корма!
Cast not our bodies to the dog or jackal, nor, Lord of Beasts!
to carrion-kites or vultures.
Let not thy black voracious flies attack them; let not thy birds
obtain them for their banquet.
Prepare not our bodies for the dog, or the jackal; for the aliklavas, the vultures, and the black birds! Thy greedy insects, O lord of cattle (pasupate), and thy birds shall not get us to devour!
avś_11.002.03.
क्र॒न्दाय ते प्राणा॒य या॒श् च ते भव रो॒पयः ।
न॒मस् ते रुद्र कृण्मः सहस्राक्षा॒यामर्त्य ॥३॥
krándāya te prāṇā́ya yā́ś ca te bhava rópayaḥ |
námas te rudra kr̥ṇmaḥ sahasrākṣā́yāmartya ||3||
Реву твоему, дыханию
И (тем) жгучим болям, что твои, о Бхава,
Поклонение мы совершаем тебе, о Рудра,
Тысячеглазому, о бессмертный!
We offer homage to thy shout, Bhava! thy breath, thy racking
pains:
Homage, Immortal One! to thee, to Rudra of the thousand
eyes.
Reverence we offer, O Bhava, to thy roaring, to thy breath, and to thy injurious qualities; reverence to thee, O Rudra, thousand-eyed, immortal!
avś_11.002.04.
पुर॒स्तात् ते न॒मः कृण्म उत्तरा॒द् अधरा॒द् उत॒ ।
अभीवर्गा॒द् दिव॒स् प॒र्य् अन्त॒रिक्षाय ते न॒मः ॥४॥
purástāt te námaḥ kr̥ṇma uttarā́d adharā́d utá |
abhīvargā́d divás páry antárikṣāya te námaḥ ||4||
Спереди мы совершаем тебе поклонение,
Сверху, а также снизу.
Из области неба (да будет)
Поклонение твоему воздушному пространству!
We offer reverence to thee from eastward, and from north and
south,
From all the compass of the sky, to thee and to the firmament.
We offer reverence to thee from the east, from the north, and from the -south; from (every) domain, and from heaven. Reverence be to thy atmosphere!
avś_11.002.05.
मु॒खाय ते पशुपते या॒नि च॒क्षूंषि ते भव ।
त्वचे॒ रूपा॒य संदृ॒शे प्रतीची॒नाय ते न॒मः ॥५॥
múkhāya te paśupate yā́ni cákṣūṃṣi te bhava |
tvacé rūpā́ya saṃdŕ̥śe pratīcī́nāya te námaḥ ||5||
Лицу твоему, о повелитель скота,
(Тем) глазам, которые у тебя, о Бхава,
Коже, цвету, виду,
Тебе, как ты выглядишь сзади, (да будет) поклонение!
Homage, O Bhava, Lord of Beasts, unto thy face and all thine
eyes,
To skin, and hue, and aspect, and to thee when looked at from
behind!
To thy face, O lord of cattle, to thy eyes, O Bhava, to thy skin, to thy form, thy appearance, (and to thy aspect) from behind, reverence be!
avś_11.002.06.
अ॒ङ्गेभ्यस् त उद॒राय जिह्वा॒या आस्या॑य ते ।
दद्भ्यो॒ गन्धा॒य ते न॒मः ॥६॥
áṅgebhyas ta udárāya jihvā́yā āsyā̀ya te |
dadbhyó gandhā́ya te námaḥ ||6||
Членам твоим, животу,
Языку, рту твоему,
Зубам, запаху твоему (да будет) поклонение!
We offer homage to thy limbs, thy belly, and thy tongue, and
mouth we offer homage to thy smell.
To thy limbs, to thy belly, to thy tongue, to thy mouth, to thy teeth, to thy smell (nose), reverence be!
avś_11.002.07.
अ॒स्त्रा नी॒लशिखण्डेन सहस्राक्षे॒ण वाजि॒ना ।
रुद्रे॒णार्धकघाति॒ना ते॒न मा॒ स॒म् अरामहि ॥७॥
ástrā nī́laśikhaṇḍena sahasrākṣéṇa vājínā |
rudréṇārdhakaghātínā téna mā́ sám arāmahi ||7||
Со стрелком с темным пучком волос,
Тысячеглазым, победоносным,
С Рудрой, способным убить пол(войска) —
Да не придем мы с ним в столкновение!
Never may we contend with him, the mighty archer, thousand-
eyed.
Rudra who wears black tufts of hair, the slaughterer of
Ardhaka.
May we not conflict with Rudra, the archer with the dark crest, the thousand-eyed, powerful one, the slayer of Ardhaka!
avś_11.002.08.
स॒ नो भवः॒ प॒रि वृणक्तु विश्व॒त आ॒प इवाग्निः॒ प॒रि वृणक्तु नो भवः॒ ।
मा॒ नो ऽभि॒ मांस्त न॒मो अस्त्व् अस्मै ॥८॥
sá no bhaváḥ pári vr̥ṇaktu viśváta ā́pa ivāgníḥ pári vr̥ṇaktu no bhaváḥ |
mā́ no 'bhí māṃsta námo astv asmai ||8||
Пусть этот Бхава избегает нас,
Как огонь — воду, со всех сторон,
Пусть Бхава избегает нас!
Пусть он не замышляет против нас! Поклонение ему!
May he, may Bhava from all sides avoid us, avoid us even as
fire avoids the waters. Let him not threaten us. To him be
homage!
Bhava shall steer clear from us on all sides, Bhava shall steer clear from us, as fire from water! May he not bear malice towards us: reverence be to him!
avś_11.002.09.
चतु॒र् न॒मो अष्टकृ॒त्वो भवा॒य द॒श कृ॒त्वः पशुपते न॒मस् ते ।
त॒वेमे॒ प॒ञ्च पश॒वो वि॒भक्ता गा॒वो अ॒श्वाः पु॒रुषा अजाव॒यः ॥९॥
catúr námo aṣṭakŕ̥tvo bhavā́ya dáśa kŕ̥tvaḥ paśupate námas te |
távemé páñca paśávo víbhaktā gā́vo áśvāḥ púruṣā ajāváyaḥ ||9||
Четыре раза поклонение, восемь раз — Бхаве!
Десять раз поклонение, о повелитель скота!
Тебе выделены эти пять (видов) животных:
Коровы, кони, люди, козы, овцы.
Four times, eight times be homage paid to Bhava, yea, Lord of
Beasts, ten times be reverence paid thee!
Thine are these animals, five several classes, oxen, and goats and
sheep, and men, and horses
Four times, eight times, be reverence to Bhava, ten times be reverence to thee, O lord of cattle! To thy (charge) have been assigned these five (kinds of) cattle: cows, horses, men, goats and sheep.
avś_11.002.10.
त॒व च॒तस्रः प्रदि॒शस् त॒व द्यौ॒स् त॒व पृथिवी॒ त॒वेद॒म् उग्रोर्व् अ॑न्त॒रिक्षम् ।
त॒वेदं॒ स॒र्वम् आत्मन्व॒द् य॒त् प्राण॒त् पृथिवी॒म् अ॒नु ॥१०॥ {५}
táva cátasraḥ pradíśas táva dyáus táva pr̥thivī́ távedám ugrorv àntárikṣam |
távedáṃ sárvam ātmanvád yát prāṇát pr̥thivī́m ánu ||10|| {5}
Твои — четыре стороны света, твое — небо,
Твоя — земля, твое, о грозный, — это широкое воздушное пространство.
Твое здесь все, (что) наделено атманом,
Что дышит на земле.
Thine the four regions, thine are earth and heaven, thine,
Mighty One, this firmament between them;
Thine everything with soul and breath here on the surface of the
land.
Thine, O strong god (ugra), are the four regions, thine the sky, thine the earth, and thine this broad atmosphere; thine is this all that has a spirit and has breath upon the earth.
avś_11.002.11.
उरुः॒ को॒शो वसुधा॒नस् त॒वायं॒ य॒स्मिन्न् इमा॒ वि॒श्वा भु॒वनान्य् अन्तः॒ ।
स॒ नो मृड पशुपते न॒मस् ते परः॒ क्रोष्टा॒रो अभिभाः॒ श्वा॒नः परो॒ यन्त्व् अघरु॒दो विकेश्यः॑ ॥११॥
urúḥ kóśo vasudhā́nas távāyáṃ yásminn imā́ víśvā bhúvanāny antáḥ |
sá no mr̥ḍa paśupate námas te paráḥ kroṣṭā́ro abhibhā́ḥ śvā́naḥ paró yantv agharúdo vikeśyàḥ ||11||
Твое — это огромное хранилище, вместилище добра,
В котором внутри все эти существа.
Будь милостив к нам, о повелитель скота! Поклонение тебе!
Пусть уйдут прочь шакалы, дурные признаки, собаки,
Прочь плакальщицы со спутанными волосами.
Thine is this ample wealth-containing storehouse that holds with-
in it all these living creatures.
Favour us, Lord of Beasts, to thee be homage! Far from us go
ill-omens, dogs, and jackals, and wild-haired women with
their horrid shrieking!
Thine is this broad, treasure-holding receptacle within which all worlds are contained. Do thou spare us, O lord of cattle: reverence be to thee! Far from us shall go the jackals, evil omens, dogs; far shall go (the mourning women) who bewail rnisfortune with dishevelled hair!
avś_11.002.12.
ध॒नुर् बिभर्षि ह॒रितं हिरण्य॒यं सहस्रघ्निं॒ शत॒वधं शिखण्डिन् ।
रुद्र॒स्ये॒षुश् चरति देवहेति॒स् त॒स्यै न॒मो यतम॒स्यां दिशी॑तः॒ ॥१२॥
dhánur bibharṣi háritaṃ hiraṇyáyaṃ sahasraghníṃ śatávadhaṃ śikhaṇḍin |
rudrásyéṣuś carati devahetís tásyai námo yatamásyāṃ diśī̀táḥ ||12||
Ты несешь желтый золотистый лук,
Убивающий тысячу, сражающий сотней (способов), (о бог) с пучком на голове!
Мчится стрела Рудры, божественный дротик,
Поклонение ей, с какой бы стороны она ни (была)!
A yellow bow of gold thou wieldest, slaying its hundred, tufted
God! smiting its thousand.
Weapon of Gods, far flies the shaft of Rudra: wherever it may
be, we pay it homage.
Thou, O crested (god), carriest in (thy hand), that smites thousands, a yellow, golden bow that slays hundreds; Rudra's arrow, the missile of the gods, flies abroad: reverence be to it, in whatever direction from here (it flies)!
avś_11.002.13.
यो॑ ऽभि॒यातो निल॒यते त्वां॒ रुद्र निचि॒कीर्षति ।
पश्चा॒द् अनुप्र॒युङ्क्षे तं॒ विद्ध॒स्य पदनी॒र् इव ॥१३॥
yò 'bhíyāto niláyate tvā́ṃ rudra nicíkīrṣati |
paścā́d anupráyuṅkṣe táṃ viddhásya padanī́r iva ||13||
Кто атакованный скрывается
(И) хочет, о Рудра, принизить тебя,
Сзади ты преследуешь его,
Как идущий по следу — раненого.
Thou, Rudra, followest close the foe who lies in wait to conquer
thee.
Even as a hunter who pursues the footsteps of the wounded
game.
The adversary who lurks and seeks to overcome thee, O Rudra, upon him thou dost fasten thyself from behind, as (the hunter) that follows the trail of a wounded (animal).
avś_11.002.14.
भवारुद्रौ॒ सयु॒जा संविदाना॒व् उभा॒व् उग्रौ॒ चरतो वीर्या॑य ।
ता॒भ्यां न॒मो यतम॒स्यां दिशी॑तः॒ ॥१४॥
bhavārudráu sayújā saṃvidānā́v ubhā́v ugráu carato vīryā̀ya |
tā́bhyāṃ námo yatamásyāṃ diśī̀táḥ ||14||
Бхава-и-Рудра, союзники, согласные между собой,
Они оба, грозные, направляются к геройству!
Им обоим поклонение с какой бы ни было стороны!
Accordant and allies, Bhava and Rudra, with mighty strength ye
go to deeds of valour. Wherever they may be, we pay them
homage.
Bhava and Rudra, united and concordant, both strong (ugrau), ye advance to deeds of heroism: reverence be to both of them, in whatever direction (they are) from here!
avś_11.002.15.
न॒मस् ते अस्त्व् आयते॒ न॒मो अस्तु परायते॒ ।
न॒मस् ते रुद्र ति॒ष्ठत आ॒सीनायोत॒ ते न॒मः ॥१५॥
námas te astv āyaté námo astu parāyaté |
námas te rudra tíṣṭhata ā́sīnāyotá te námaḥ ||15||
Тебе, приходящему, да будет поклонение,
(Тебе), уходящему, да будет поклонение!
Тебе, стоящему, о Рудра, поклонение,
А также сидящему тебе — поклонение!
Be homage, Rudra, unto thee approaching and departing hence!
Homage to thee when standing still, to thee when seated and at
rest!
Reverence be to thee coming, reverence to thee going; reverence, O Rudra, be to thee standing, and reverence, also, to thee sitting!
avś_11.002.16.
न॒मः सायं॒ न॒मः प्रात॒र् न॒मो रा॒त्र्या न॒मो दि॒वा ।
भवा॒य च शर्वा॒य चोभा॒भ्याम् अकरं न॒मः ॥१६॥
námaḥ sāyáṃ námaḥ prātár námo rā́tryā námo dívā |
bhavā́ya ca śarvā́ya cobhā́bhyām akaraṃ námaḥ ||16||
Поклонение вечером, поклонение утром,
Поклонение ночью, поклонение днем.
Бхаве и Шарве обоим
Я совершил поклонение.
Homage at evening and at morn, homage at night, homage by
day .
To Bhava and to Sarva, both, have I paid lowly reverence,
Reverence in the evening, reverence in the morning, reverence by night,reverence byday! I have offered reverence to Bhava and to Sarva, both.
avś_11.002.17.
सहस्राक्ष॒म् अतिपश्यं॒ पुर॒स्ताद् रुद्र॒म् अ॒स्यन्तं बहुधा॒ विपश्चि॒तम् ।
मो॒पाराम जिह्व॒ये॒यमानम् ॥१७॥
sahasrākṣám atipaśyáṃ purástād rudrám ásyantaṃ bahudhā́ vipaścítam |
mópārāma jihváyéyamānam ||17||
Мы не хотим столкнуться с тысячеглазым,
Видящим наперед (все) насквозь Рудрой,
Стреляющим во многих местах, прозорливым, идущим с (высунутым) языком!
Let us not outrage with our tongue far-seeing Rudra, thousand-
eyed,
Inspired with varied lore, who shoots his arrows forward, far
away.
Let us not with our tongue offend Rudra, who rushes on, thousand-eyed, overseeing all, who hurls (his shafts) forward, who is manifoldly wise!
avś_11.002.18.
श्यावा॒श्वं कृष्ण॒म् अ॒सितं मृण॒न्तं भीमं॒ र॒थं केशि॒नः पाद॒यन्तम् ।
पू॒र्वे प्र॒तीमो न॒मो अस्त्व् अस्मै ॥१८॥
śyāvā́śvaṃ kr̥ṣṇám ásitaṃ mr̥ṇántaṃ bhīmáṃ ráthaṃ keśínaḥ pādáyantam |
pū́rve prátīmo námo astv asmai ||18||
Мы идем первыми навстречу (богу) с темными конями,
Черному, смуглому, сокрушительному, страшному,
Тому, кто опрокидывает колесницу Кешина, — да будет ему поклонение!
Foremost we go to meet his car, the chariot of the long-haired
God,
Drawn by brown horses, dusky, black, o'erthrowing, slaying,
terrible. Let reverence be paid to him.
We approach first the (god) that has dark horses, is black, sable, destructive, terrible, who casts down the car of Kesin: reverence be to him!
avś_11.002.19.
मा॒ नो ऽभि॒ स्रा मत्यं॑ देवहेतिं॒ मा॒ नः क्रुधः पशुपते न॒मस् ते ।
अन्य॒त्रास्म॒द् दिव्यां॒ शा॒खां वि॒ धूनु ॥१९॥
mā́ no 'bhí srā matyàṃ devahetíṃ mā́ naḥ krudhaḥ paśupate námas te |
anyátrāsmád divyā́ṃ śā́khāṃ ví dhūnu ||19||
Не швыряй в нас дубину (?),
Не гневайся на нас, о повелитель скота, — поклонение тебе!
В другом месте, не у нас, стряхивай божественную ветвь!
Cast not thy club at us, thy heavenly weapon. Lord of Beasts,
be not wroth with us. Let reverence be paid to thee.
Shake thy celestial branch above some others elsewhere, not o'er
us.
Do not hurl at us thy club, thy divine bolt; be not incensed at us, O lord of cattle! Shake over some other than us the celestial branch!
avś_11.002.20.
मा॒ नो हिंसीर् अ॒धि नो ब्रूहि प॒रि णो वृङ्धि मा॒ क्रुधः ।
मा॒ त्व॒या स॒म् अरामहि ॥२०॥ {६}
mā́ no hiṃsīr ádhi no brūhi pári ṇo vr̥ṅdhi mā́ krudhaḥ |
mā́ tváyā sám arāmahi ||20|| {6}
Не повреди нас! Вступись за нас!
Избегай нас! Не гневайся!
Да не придем мы с тобой в столкновение!
Do us no harm, but comfort us: avoid thou us, and be not
wroth. Never let us contend with thee.
Injure us not, interpose for us, spare us, be not angry with us! Let us not contend with thee!
avś_11.002.21.
मा॒ नो गो॒षु पु॒रुषेषु मा॒ गृधो नो अजावि॒षु ।
अन्य॒त्रोग्र वि॒ वर्तय पि॒यारूणां प्रजां॒ जहि ॥२१॥
mā́ no góṣu púruṣeṣu mā́ gr̥dho no ajāvíṣu |
anyátrogra ví vartaya píyārūṇāṃ prajā́ṃ jahi ||21||
Не (жаждай) ни наших коров, ни людей,
Не жаждай наших коз и овец!
О грозный, замахивайся (камнями) в другом месте!
Убей потомство хулителей!
Covet not thou our kine or men, covet not thou our goats or
sheep.
Elsewhither, strong One! turn thine aim: destroy the mockers'
family.
Do not covet our cattle, our men, our goats and sheep! Bend thy course elsewhere, O strong god (ugra), slay the offspring of the blasphemers!
avś_11.002.22.
य॒स्य तक्मा॒ का॒सिका हेति॒र् ए॒कम् अ॒श्वस्येव वृ॒षणः क्र॒न्द ए॒ति ।
अभिपूर्वं॒ निर्ण॒यते न॒मो अस्त्व् अस्मै ॥२२॥
yásya takmā́ kā́sikā hetír ékam áśvasyeva vŕ̥ṣaṇaḥ kránda éti |
abhipūrváṃ nirṇáyate námo astv asmai ||22||
У кого (лихорадка-)такман, кашель
Направлены как дротик на одного, как ржание коня-жеребца,
Да будет поклонение ему, решающему одно за другим!
Homage to him whose weapon, Cough or Fever, assails one like
the neighing of a stallion; to him who draws one forth and
then another!
He whose missile, fever and cough, assails the single (victim), as the snorting of a stallion, who snatches away (his victims) one by one, to him be reverence!
avś_11.002.23.
यो॑ ऽन्त॒रिक्षे ति॒ष्ठति वि॒ष्टभितो॒ ऽयज्वनः प्रमृण॒न् देवपीयू॒न् ।
त॒स्मै न॒मो दश॒भिः श॒क्वरीभिः ॥२३॥
yò 'ntárikṣe tíṣṭhati víṣṭabhitó 'yajvanaḥ pramr̥ṇán devapīyū́n |
tásmai námo daśábhiḥ śákvarībhiḥ ||23||
Кто стоит в воздушном пространстве прочно установленный,
Уничтожая не приносящих жертв, хулителей богов, —
Поклонение ему с помощью десяти умелых!
Homage be paid him with ten Sakvari verses who stands
established in the air's mid-region, slaying non-sacrificing
God-despisers!
He who dwells fixed in the atmosphere, smiting the blasphemers of the god that do not sacrifice, to him be reverence with ten sakvarī-stanzas!
avś_11.002.24.
तु॒भ्यम् आरण्याः॒ पश॒वो मृगा॒ व॒ने हिता॒ हंसाः॒ सुपर्णाः॒ शकुना॒ व॒यांसि ।
त॒व यक्षं॒ पशुपते अप्स्व् अ॑न्त॒स् तु॒भ्यं क्षरन्ति दिव्या॒ आ॒पो वृधे॒ ॥२४॥
túbhyam āraṇyā́ḥ paśávo mr̥gā́ váne hitā́ haṃsā́ḥ suparṇā́ḥ śakunā́ váyāṃsi |
táva yakṣáṃ paśupate apsv àntás túbhyaṃ kṣaranti divyā́ ā́po vr̥dhé ||24||
Для тебя были предназначены лесные животные, дикие звери в лесу,
Гуси, орлы, ястребы, птицы.
Твое, о повелитель скота, чудо внутри вод.
Текут небесные воды для (твоего) усиления.
For thee were forest beasts and sylvan creatures placed in the
wood, and small birds, swans, and eagles.
Floods, Lord of Beasts! contain thy living beings: to swell thy
strength flow the celestial Waters.
For thee the wild beasts of the forest have been placed in the forest: flamingoes, eagles, birds of prey, and fowls. Thy spirit, O lord of cattle, is within the waters, to strengthen thee the heavenly waters flow.
avś_11.002.25.
शिंशुमा॒रा अजगराः॒ पुरीक॒या जषा॒ म॒त्स्या रजसा॒ ये॒भ्यो अ॒स्यसि ।
न॒ ते दूरं॒ न॒ परिष्ठा॒स्ति ते भव सद्यः॒ स॒र्वां प॒रि
śiṃśumā́rā ajagarā́ḥ purīkáyā jaṣā́ mátsyā rajasā́ yébhyo ásyasi |
ná te dūráṃ ná pariṣṭhā́sti te bhava sadyáḥ sárvāṃ pári
Дельфины, удавы, пурикая, джаша, рыбы,
Раджаса, в которых ты стреляешь, —
Нет для тебя, о Бхава, ни далекого расстояния, ни препятствия.
Сразу ты видишь через всю землю.
С востока ты поражаешь в северном океане.
Porpoises, serpents, strange aquatic monsters, fishes, and things
unclean at which thou shootest.
Nothing is far for thee, naught checks thee, Bhava! The whole
earth in a moment thou surveyest. From the east sea thou
smitest in the northern.
The dolphins, great serpents (boas), purīkayas (water-animals), sea-monsters, fishes, ragasas at which thou shootest-there exists for thee, O Bhava, no distance, and no barrier. At a glance thou lookest around the entire earth; from the eastern thou slayest in the northern ocean.
avś_11.002.26.
मा॒ नो रुद्र तक्म॒ना मा॒ विषे॒ण मा॒ नः सं॒ स्रा दिव्ये॒नाग्नि॒ना ।
अन्य॒त्रास्म॒द् विद्यु॒तं पातयैता॒म् ॥२६॥
mā́ no rudra takmánā mā́ viṣéṇa mā́ naḥ sáṃ srā divyénāgnínā |
anyátrāsmád vidyútaṃ pātayaitā́m ||26||
(Не соедини) нас, Рудра, ни с лихорадкой-такман, ни с ядом;
Не соедини нас с небесным огнем.
В другом месте, не у нас, пошли эту молнию!
O'erwhelm us not with Fever or with poison, nor, Rudra! with
the fire that comes from heaven. Elsewhere, and not on us,
cast down this lightning.
Do not, O Rudra, contaminate us with fever, or with poison, or with heavenly fire: cause this lightning to descend elsewhere than upon us!
avś_11.002.27.
भवो॒ दिवो॒ भव॒ ईशे पृथिव्या॒ भव॒ आ॒ पप्र उर्व् अ॑न्त॒रिक्षम् ।
त॒स्यै न॒मो यतम॒स्यां दिशी॑तः॒ ॥२७॥
bhavó divó bhavá īśe pr̥thivyā́ bhavá ā́ papra urv àntárikṣam |
tásyai námo yatamásyāṃ diśī̀táḥ ||27||
Бхава владеет небом, Бхава землей,
Бхава заполнил широкое воздушное пространство.
Поклонение ему с какой бы ни было отсюда стороны!
Ruler of heaven and Lord of earth is Bhava: Bhava hath filled
the spacious air's mid-region. Where'er he be, to him be paid
our homage!
Bhava rules the sky, Bhava rules the earth; Bhava has filled the broad: atmosphere. Reverence be to him in whatever direction from here (he abides)!
avś_11.002.28.
भ॒व राजन् य॒जमानाय मृड पशूनां॒ हि॒ पशुप॒तिर् बभू॒थ ।
यः॒ श्रद्द॒धाति स॒न्ति देवा॒ इ॒ति च॒तुष्पदे द्विप॒दे ऽस्य मृड ॥२८॥
bháva rājan yájamānāya mr̥ḍa paśūnā́ṃ hí paśupátir babhū́tha |
yáḥ śraddádhāti sánti devā́ íti cátuṣpade dvipáde 'sya mr̥ḍa ||28||
О царь Бхава, будь милостив к жертвователю —
Ведь ты стал повелителем скота.
Кто верит, говоря «Есть боги»,
Будь милостив к его четвероногим (и) двуногим!
King Bhava, favour him who offers worship, for thou art
Pasupati, Lord of victims.
Be gracious to the quadruped and biped of the believer in the
Gods' existence.
O king Bhava, be merciful to thy worshipper, for thou art the lord of living beasts! He who believes the gods exist, to his quadruped and biped be merciful!
avś_11.002.29.
मा॒ नो महा॒न्तम् उत॒ मा॒ नो अर्भकं॒ मा॒ नो व॒हन्तम् उत॒ मा॒ नो वक्ष्यतः॒ ।
मा॒ नो हिंसीः पित॒रं मात॒रं च स्वां॒ तन्वं॑ रुद्र मा॒ रीरिषो नः ॥२९॥
mā́ no mahā́ntam utá mā́ no arbhakáṃ mā́ no váhantam utá mā́ no vakṣyatáḥ |
mā́ no hiṃsīḥ pitáraṃ mātáraṃ ca svā́ṃ tanvàṃ rudra mā́ rīriṣo naḥ ||29||
Ни великого среди нас, ни малого среди нас,
Ни возящего нас, ни собирающегося нас возить,
Ни отца нашего, ни матери не убивай!
Не причини вреда, о Рудра, нашим собственным телам!
Harm thou among us neither great nor little, not one who bears
us, not our future bearers.
Injure no sire among us, harm no mother. Forbear to injure our
own bodies, Rudra.
Slay neither our great nor our small; neither those of us that are riding, nor those that shall ride; neither our father, nor our mother. Cause no injury, O Rudra, to our own persons!
avś_11.002.30.
रुद्र॒स्यैलबकारे॒भ्यो ऽसंसूक्तगिले॒भ्यः ।
इदं॒ महा॒स्येभ्यः श्व॒भ्यो अकरं न॒मः ॥३०॥
rudrásyailabakārébhyo 'saṃsūktagilébhyaḥ |
idáṃ mahā́syebhyaḥ śvábhyo akaraṃ námaḥ ||30||
Я совершил это поклонение
Двум псам Рудры с огромными пастями,
Громко завывающим,
Глотающим не жуя (?).
This lowly reverence have I paid to Rudra's dogs with mighty
mouths,
Hounds terrible with bark and howl, who gorge unmasticated
food.
To Rudra's howling dogs, who swallow their food without blessing, who have wide jaws, I have made this obeisance.
avś_11.002.31.
न॒मस् ते घोषि॒णीभ्यो न॒मस् ते केशि॒नीभ्यः ।
न॒मो न॒मस्कृताभ्यो न॒मः संभुञ्जती॒भ्यः ।
न॒मस् ते देव से॒नाभ्यः स्वस्ति॒ नो अ॒भयं च नः ॥३१॥ {७}
námas te ghoṣíṇībhyo námas te keśínībhyaḥ |
námo námaskr̥tābhyo námaḥ saṃbhuñjatī́bhyaḥ |
námas te deva sénābhyaḥ svastí no ábhayaṃ ca naḥ ||31|| {7}
Поклонение твоим громкогласным,
Поклонением твоим волосатым,
Поклонение (тем, кому) сделано поклонение,
Поклонение вместе вкушающим!
Поклонение твоим войскам, о бог!
Благополучие нам и бесстрашие нам!
Homage to thy loud-shouting hosts and thy long-haired
followers!
Homage to hosts that are adored, homage to armies that enjoy
Homage to all thy troops, O God. Security and bliss be ours!
Reverence, O god, be to thy shouting hosts, reverence to thy long-haired, reverence to thy reverenced, reverence to thy devouring hosts! May well-being and security be to us!
