After the Brahmachārī go the Fathers, the heavenly hosts, all
Gods in separate order.
After him too have the Gandharvas followed, thirty and three,
three hundred, and six thousand. He satisfies all Gods with
his devotion.

The fathers, the divine folk, and all the gods severally follow the Brahmakārin; the Gandharvas did go after him, six thousand three hundred and thirty-three. He fills all the gods with creative fervour.

The Master, welcoming his new disciple, into his bowels takes
the Brahmachāri.
Three nights he holds and bears him in this belly. When he is
born, the Gods convene to see him.

When the teacher receives the Brahmakārin as a disciple, he places him as a foetus inside (of his body). He carries him for three nights in his belly: when he is born the gods gather about to see him.

This log is earth, the second log is heaven: he fills the air's mid
region with the fuel.
With fuel, with his zone the Brahmachāri contents the worlds,
with labour and with Fervour.

This earth is (his first) piece of firewood, the heaven the second, and the atmosphere also he fills with (the third) piece of firewood. The Brahmakārin. fills the worlds with his firewood, his girdle, his asceticism, and his creative fervour.

The Brahmachāri, earlier born than Brahma, sprang up through
Fervour, robed in hot libation.
From him sprang heavenly lore, the highest Brahma, and all the
Gods, with life that lasts for ever.

Prior to the brahma (spiritual exaltation) the Brahmakārin was born; clothed in heat, by creative fervour he arose. From him sprung the brāhmanam (Brahmanic life) and the highest brahma, and all the gods together with immortality (amrita).

Lighted by fuel goes the Brahmachāri, clad in black-buck skin,
consecrate, long-bearded.
Swiftly he goes from east to northern ocean, grasping the worlds,
oft bringing them anear him.

The Brahmakārin advances, kindled by the firewood, clothed in the skin of the black antelope, consecrated, with long beard. Within the day he passes from the eastern to the northern sea; gathering together the worlds he repeatedly shapes them.

The Brahmachāri, fathering Prayer, world, Waters, Virāj, Prajā-
pati, and Parameshthin,
Lay as a germ within the Immortal's bosom, then became Indra
and destroyed the demons.

The Brahmakārin, begetting the brahma, the waters, the world, Pragāpati Parameshthin (he that stands in the hiahest place), and Virāg, having become an embryo in the womb of immortality, having forsooth, become Indra, pierced the Asuras.

The Master fashioned both these cloudy regions, profound and
spacious pair, the earth and heaven.
The Brahmachāri guards them with his Fervour. In him the
deities are all one-minded.

The Brahmachāri first of all brought hither this ample earth as
alms, and heaven above it.
He makes these twain two fuel-logs, and worships, On these sup-
ported rest all living creatures.

This broad earth and the heaven the Brahmakārin first brought hither as alms. Having made these into two sticks of firewood he reveres them upon them all beings have been founded.

Both treasuries of sacred lore lie hidden, one hitherward, beyond
heaven's ridge the other.
The Brahmachārī with his Fervour guards them. He makes this
all his own as knowing Brahma.

One is on the hither side, the other on the farther side of the back of the heavens; secretly are deposited the two receptacles of the brāhmanam (Brahmanic life). These the Brahmakārin protects by his tapas (creative fervour); understandingly he performs that brahma (spiritual exaltation) solely.

Hitherward one, hence from the earth the other, two Agnis meet
between these cloudy regions.
Close to these two firm rays of light are clinging. The Brahma-
chāri enters them through Fervour.

One on the hither side, the other away from the earth, do the two Agnis come together between these two hemispheres (of the world). To them adhere the rays firmly; the Brahmakārin by his tapas (creative fervour) enters into the (rays).

Thundering, shouting, ruddy-hued, and pallid, he bears along the
earth great manly vigour.
Down on the ridge of earth the Brahmachāri pours seed, and
this gives life to heaven's four regions.

Shouting forth, thundering, red, white he carries a great penis along the earth. The Brahmakārin sprinkles seed upon the back of the earth; through it the four directions live.

The Brahmachāri stores with fuel Waters, and Fire, and Sun, and
Moon, and Mātarisvan.
The Water's lights move separate in the rain-cloud, Man, rain,
and water are their molten butter.

Into fire, the sun, the moon, Mātarisvan (wind), and the waters, the Brahmakārin places the firewood; the lights from these severally go into the clouds, from them come sacrificial butter, the purusha (primeval man), rain, and water.
