avś_11.009.01.

ये॒ बाह॒वो या॒ इ॒षवो ध॒न्वनां वीर्या॑णि च ।
असी॒न् परशू॒न् आ॒युधं चित्ताकूतं॒ च य॒द् धृदि॒ ।
स॒र्वं त॒द् अर्बुदे त्व॒म् अमि॒त्रेभ्यो दृशे॒ कुरूदारां॒श् च प्र॒ दर्शय ॥१॥

yé bāhávo yā́ íṣavo dhánvanāṃ vīryā̀ṇi ca |
asī́n paraśū́n ā́yudhaṃ cittākūtáṃ ca yád dhr̥dí |
sárvaṃ tád arbude tvám amítrebhyo dr̥śé kurūdārā́ṃś ca prá darśaya ||1||

Какие (есть) руки, какие стрелы
И силы мужества луков,
Мечи, топоры, оружие
И какое представление-и-замысел (у нас) на сердце —
Все это, о Арбуди, ты
Сделай видимым для (наших) недругов
И покажи дурные предзнаменования!

All arms and every arrow, all the power and might that bows
possess,
The warlike weapon, axes, swords, the plan and purpose in the
heart,
All this, O Arbudi, make thou visible to our enemies, and let
them look on mist and fog.

The arms, the arrows, and the might of the bows; the swords, the axes, the weapons, and the artful scheme that is in our mind; all that, O Arbudi, do thou make the enemies see, and spectres also make them see!

avś_11.009.02.

उ॒त् तिष्ठत सं॒ नह्यध्वं मि॒त्रा दे॒वजना यूय॒म् ।
सं॒दृष्टा गुप्ता॒ वः सन्तु या॒ नो मित्रा॒ण्य् अर्बुदे ॥२॥

út tiṣṭhata sáṃ nahyadhvaṃ mítrā dévajanā yūyám |
sáṃdr̥ṣṭā guptā́ vaḥ santu yā́ no mitrā́ṇy arbude ||2||

Поднимайтесь, подпоясывайтесь,
О друзья! Вы — народ богов.
Пусть будут замечены и сохранены вами
(Те), кто наши друзья, о Арбуди!

Arise ye and prepare yourselves: ye, the celestial hosts, are
friends.
Let your mysterious natures be seen by our friends O Arbudi.

Arise, and arm yourselves; friends are ye, O divine folk! May our friends be perceived and protected by you, O Arbudi (and Nyarbudi)!

avś_11.009.03.

उ॒त् तिष्ठतम् आ॒ रभेताम् आदानसंदाना॒भ्याम् ।
अमि॒त्राणां से॒ना अभि॒ धत्तम् अर्बुदे ॥३॥

út tiṣṭhatam ā́ rabhetām ādānasaṃdānā́bhyām |
amítrāṇāṃ sénā abhí dhattam arbude ||3||

Поднимайтесь вы двое, держитесь!
С помощью привязывания-связывания
Охватите войска
Недругов, о Арбуди (и Ньярбуди)!

Rise both of you: begin your work with fettering and binding.

Arise (ye two), and take hold! With fetters and shackles surround ye the armies of the enemy, O Arbudi (and Nyarbudi)!

avś_11.009.04.

अ॒र्बुदिर् ना॒म यो॒ देव॒ ई॒शानश् च न्य॑र्बुदिः ।
या॒भ्याम् अन्त॒रिक्षम् आ॒वृतम् इयं॒ च पृथिवी॒ मही॒ ।
ता॒भ्याम् इ॒न्द्रमेदिभ्याम् अहं॒ जित॒म् अ॒न्व् एमि से॒नया ॥४॥

árbudir nā́ma yó devá ī́śānaś ca nyàrbudiḥ |
yā́bhyām antárikṣam ā́vr̥tam iyáṃ ca pr̥thivī́ mahī́ |
tā́bhyām índramedibhyām aháṃ jitám ánv emi sénayā ||4||

Бог, который по имени Арбуди,
И владыка Ньярбуди,
Которыми замкнуто воздушное пространство,
И эта великая земля, —
За тем, что завоевано этими двумя союзниками Индры,
Я иду следом со (своим) войском.

The God whose name is Arbudi, and Nyarbudi the Mighty
One,
The two by whom the air and this great earth are compassed
and possessed,
With these two friends of Indra I go forth to conquer with the
host.

The god whose name is Arbudi, and the lord Nyarbudi, by whom the atmosphere and this great earth has been infolded, with these two companions of Indra do I pursue the conquered (king) with my army.

avś_11.009.05.

उ॒त् तिष्ठ त्वं॒ देवजना॒र्बुदे से॒नया सह॒ ।
भञ्ज॒न्न् अमि॒त्राणां से॒नां भोगे॒भिः प॒रि वारय ॥५॥

út tiṣṭha tváṃ devajanā́rbude sénayā sahá |
bhañjánn amítrāṇāṃ sénāṃ bhogébhiḥ pári vāraya ||5||

Поднимись ты, о народ богов,
О Арбуди, вместе с войском!
Разбивая войско недругов,
Окружи (его своими) кольцами!

Rise with our army stand thou up. O Godlike Being, Arbudi.
Breaking the hosts of enemies, surround them with thy winding
coils.

Arise, thou divine person, O Arbudi, together with thy army! Crushing the army of tlie enemy, encompass them with thy embraces!

avś_11.009.06.

सप्त॒ जाता॒न् न्य॑र्बुद उदारा॒णां समीक्ष॒यन् ।
ते॒भिष् ट्व॒म् आ॒ज्ये हुते॒ स॒र्वैर् उ॒त् तिष्ठ से॒नया ॥६॥

saptá jātā́n nyàrbuda udārā́ṇāṃ samīkṣáyan |
tébhiṣ ṭvám ā́jye huté sárvair út tiṣṭha sénayā ||6||

Делая очевидными семь родов
Дурных предзнаменований, о Ньярбуди,
Со всеми ими ты поднимись
Вместе с войском, когда налито жертвенное масло.

Exhibiting, O Arbudi, seven children of the mist and fog,
When butter hath been offered, rise with all of these and with
the host.

Thou, Arbudi, makest appear the sevenfold spectral brood. Do thou, when the oblation has been poured, rise up with all. these, together with the army!

avś_11.009.07.

प्रतिघ्नाना॒श्रुमुखी॒ कृधुकर्णी॒ च क्रोशतु ।
विकेशी॒ पु॒रुषे हते॒ रदिते॒ अर्बुदे त॒व ॥७॥

pratighnānā́śrumukhī́ kr̥dhukarṇī́ ca krośatu |
vikeśī́ púruṣe haté radité arbude táva ||7||

Ударяя (себя) (в грудь), с заплаканным лицом
И с изувеченными (?) ушами пусть она вопит
Со спутанными волосами, когда убит мужчина,
Укушенный тобой, о Арбуди!

Beating her breast, with tearful face, let the short-earned, the
wild-haired hag.
Shriek loudly when a man is slain, pierced through by thee, O
Arbudi;

(The female mourner), beating herself, with tear-stained face, with short (mutilated?) ears, with dishevelled hair, shall lament, when a man has been slain, pierced by thee, O Arbudi!

avś_11.009.08.

संक॒र्षन्ती करू॒करं म॒नसा पुत्र॒म् इछ॒न्ती ।
प॒तिं भ्रा॒तरम् आ॒त् स्वा॒न् रदिते॒ अर्बुदे त॒व ॥८॥

saṃkárṣantī karū́karaṃ mánasā putrám ichántī |
pátiṃ bhrā́taram ā́t svā́n radité arbude táva ||8||

Изгибая шею (?),
Душой стремясь к сыну,
Мужу, брату, к своим,
(Пусть) вопит она, укушенная тобой, о Арбуди!

Snatching away the vertebra, while with her thought she seeks
her son,
Her husband, brother, kin, when one, Arbudi! hath been pierc-
ed by thee.

She curves her spine while longing in her heart for her son, her husband, and her kin, when (a man) has been pierced by thee, O Arbudi!

avś_11.009.09.

अलि॒क्लवा जाष्कमदा॒ गृ॒ध्राः श्येनाः॒ पतत्रि॒णः ।
ध्वा॒ङ्क्षाः शकु॒नयस् तृप्यन्त्व् अमि॒त्रेषु समीक्ष॒यन् रदिते॒ अर्बुदे त॒व ॥९॥

alíklavā jāṣkamadā́ gŕ̥dhrāḥ śyenā́ḥ patatríṇaḥ |
dhvā́ṅkṣāḥ śakúnayas tr̥pyantv amítreṣu samīkṣáyan radité arbude táva ||9||

Пусть стервятники (?), джашкамада,
Ястребы, соколы крылатые,
Вороны, птицы насытятся,
Показывая недругам,
Когда ты укусил (человека), о Арбуди!

Let vultures, ravens, kites, and crows, and every carrion-eating
bird.
Feast on our foes, and show where one, Arbudi! hath been
pierced by thee.

The aliklavas and the gāshkamadas, the vultures, the strong-winged hawks, the crows, and the birds (of prey) shall obtain their fill! Let them make evident to the enemy, when (a man) has been pierced by thee, O Arbudi!

avś_11.009.10.

अ॒थो स॒र्वं श्वा॒पदं म॒क्षिका तृप्यतु क्रि॒मिः ।
पौ॒रुषेये॒ ऽधि कु॒णपे रदिते॒ अर्बुदे त॒व ॥१०॥ {२५}

átho sárvaṃ śvā́padaṃ mákṣikā tr̥pyatu krímiḥ |
páuruṣeyé 'dhi kúṇape radité arbude táva ||10|| {25}

Затем пусть все хищное зверье,
Муха, червяк насытятся
Человеческой мертвечиной,
Когда ты укусил человека, о Арбуди!

Then let each greedy beast of prey, and fly and worm regale
itself
Upon the human corpse where one, Arbudi, hath been pierced
by thee.

Then, too, every wild beast, insect, and worm shall obtain his fill on the human carcass, when (a man) has been pierced by thee, O Arbudi!

avś_11.009.11.

आ॒ गृह्णीतं सं॒ बृहतं प्राणापाना॒न् न्यर्बुदे ।
निवाशा॒ घो॒षाः सं॒ यन्त्व् अमि॒त्रेषु समीक्ष॒यन् रदिते॒ अर्बुदे त॒व ॥११॥

ā́ gr̥hṇītaṃ sáṃ br̥hataṃ prāṇāpānā́n nyarbude |
nivāśā́ ghóṣāḥ sáṃ yantv amítreṣu samīkṣáyan radité arbude táva ||11||

Захватите вы двое, вырвите
Вдохи-и-выдохи (врагов), о Ньярбуди!
Пусть раздадутся звуки стонов —
Показывая недругам,
Когда ты укусил (человека), о Арбуди!

Attack them, both of you; bear off their vital breath O Nyar-
budi.
Let mingled shouts and echoing cries of woe amid our foemen
show where thou, O Arbudi, hast pierced

Seize ye, and tear out in-breathing and outbreathing, O Nyarbudi (and Arbudi): deep-sounding groans shall arise! Let them make it evident to the enemy, when (a man) has been pierced by thee, O Arbudi!

avś_11.009.12.

उ॒द् वेपय सं॒ विजन्तां भिया॒मि॒त्रान्त् सं॒ सृज ।
उरुग्राहै॒र् बाह्वङ्कै॒र् वि॒ध्यामि॒त्रान् न्यर्बुदे ॥१२॥

úd vepaya sáṃ vijantāṃ bhiyā́mítrānt sáṃ sr̥ja |
urugrāháir bāhvaṅkáir vídhyāmítrān nyarbude ||12||

Заставь их дрожать! Пусть они удирают!
Объедини врагов в страхе!
Ручными крюками с широким захватом
Пронзи врагов, о Ньярбуди!

Shake them, and let them sink with fear: e'erwhelm our enemies
with dread.
With widely-grasping bends of arm, O Arbudi, crush down our
foes.

Scare them forth, let them tremble; bewilder the enemies with fright! With thy broad embrace, with the clasp of thy arms crush the enemies, O Nyarbudi!

avś_11.009.13.

मु॒ह्यन्त्व् एषां बाह॒वश् चित्ताकूतं॒ च य॒द् धृदि॒ ।
मै॒षाम् उ॒च् छेषि किं॒ चन॒ रदिते॒ अर्बुदे त॒व ॥१३॥

múhyantv eṣāṃ bāhávaś cittākūtáṃ ca yád dhr̥dí |
máiṣām úc cheṣi kíṃ caná radité arbude táva ||13||

Пусть запутаются у них руки
И (те) представление-и-замысел, что (у них) на сердце!
Пусть ничего не останется от них,
Когда ты укусил (человека), о Арбуди!

Let those mens' arms grow faint and weak, dull be the purpose
of their heart;
And let not aught of them be left when thou, O Arbudi, hast
pierced.

May their arms, and the artful scheme that is in their mind be confused! Not a thing shall remain of them, pierced by thee, O Arbudi!

avś_11.009.14.

प्रतिघ्नानाः॒ सं॒ धावन्तू॒रः पटौरा॒व् आघ्नानाः॒ ।
अघारि॒णीर् विकेश्यो॑ रुदत्यः॑ पु॒रुषे हते॒ रदिते॒ अर्बुदे त॒व ॥१४॥

pratighnānā́ḥ sáṃ dhāvantū́raḥ paṭaurā́v āghnānā́ḥ |
aghāríṇīr vikeśyò rudatyàḥ púruṣe haté radité arbude táva ||14||

Нанося себе (удары), пусть они вместе удирают,
Ударяя себя в грудь (и) по патура,
Не намазанные притиранием, со спутанными волосами,
Вопящие по убитому мужчине,
Когда ты укусил (человека), о Арбуди!

Self-smiting, beating breast and thigh, careless of unguent, with
their hair dishevelled, weeping,
hags shall run together, when a man is slain, when thou, O
Arbudi, hast pierced.

May (the mourning women) beating them selves, run together, smiting their breasts and their thighs, not anointed, with dishevelled hair, howling, when a man has been slain, has been pierced by thee, O Arbudi!

avś_11.009.15.

श्व॑न्वतीर् अप्सर॒सो रू॒पका उता॒र्बुदे ।
अन्तःपात्रे॒ रे॒रिहतीं रिशां॒ दुर्णिहितैषि॒णीम् ।
स॒र्वास् ता॒ अर्बुदे त्व॒म् अमि॒त्रेभ्यो दृशे॒ कुरूदारां॒श् च प्र॒ दर्शय ॥१५॥

śvànvatīr apsaráso rū́pakā utā́rbude |
antaḥpātré rérihatīṃ riśā́ṃ durṇihitaiṣíṇīm |
sárvās tā́ arbude tvám amítrebhyo dr̥śé kurūdārā́ṃś ca prá darśaya ||15||

Апсарас, сопровождаемые псами,
А также самки шакалов, о Арбуди,
Вылизывающий нутро сосуда
Ощипывающий зверек, ищущий что плохо положено, —
Все это, о Арбуди, ты
Сделай видимым для (наших) недругов
И покажи дурные предзнаменования!

Apsarases with dog-like mates, and Rūpakās, O Arbudi,
And her who licks the cup inside, and seeks to wound in ill-
kept place,
All these, O Arbudi, do thou make visible to our enemies and
let them look on mists and fog.

The dog-like Apsaras, and also the Rūpakās (phantoms), the plucking sprite, that eacerly licks within the vessel, and her that seeks out what has been carelessly hidden, all those do thou, O Arbudi, make the enemies see, and spectres also make them see!

avś_11.009.16.

खडू॒रे ऽधिचङ्क्रमां॒ ख॒र्विकां खर्ववासि॒नीम् ।
य॒ उदारा॒ अन्त॒र्हिता गन्धर्वाप्सर॒सश् च ये॒ ।
सर्पा॒ इतरजना॒ र॒क्षांसि ॥१६॥

khaḍū́re 'dhicaṅkramā́ṃ khárvikāṃ kharvavāsínīm |
yá udārā́ antárhitā gandharvāpsarásaś ca yé |
sarpā́ itarajanā́ rákṣāṃsi ||16||

(Сделай видимой) наступающую на кхадуру,
Изуродованную, одетую в изуродованное!
Дурные предзнаменования, что спрятаны внутри,
И (те), что гандхарвы-и-апсарас,
Змеи, другой народ, ракшасы...

The fiend who creeps upon the sword, maimed, dwelling where
Lthe wounded lie,
The misty shapes that lurk concealed, Gandharvas and Apsara-
ses, demons, and snakes and Other Folk;

(And also make them see) her that strides upon the mist, the mutilated one, who dwells with the mutilated; the vapoury spooks that are hidden, and the Gandharvas and Apsaras, the serpents, and other brood, and the Rakshas!

avś_11.009.17.

च॒तुर्दंष्ट्रां छ्याव॒दतः कुम्भ॒मुष्कां अ॒सृङ्मुखान् ।
स्वभ्यसा॒ ये॒ चोद्भ्यसाः॒ ॥१७॥

cáturdaṃṣṭrāṃ chyāvádataḥ kumbhámuṣkām̐ ásr̥ṅmukhān |
svabhyasā́ yé codbhyasā́ḥ ||17||

(Покажи тех) с четырьмя клыками, с черными зубами,
С горшками-мошонками, с кровавыми лицами,
Кто пугается сам и содрогается.

Armed with four fangs and yellow teeth, deformed, with faces
smeared with blood, the terrible and fearless ones,

(And also) the spooks with fourfold teeth, black teeth, testicles like a pot, bloody faces, who are inherently frightful, and terrifying!

avś_11.009.18.

उ॒द् वेपय त्व॒म् अर्बुदे ऽमि॒त्राणाम् अमूः॒ सि॒चः ।
ज॒यंश् च जिष्णु॒श् चामि॒त्रां ज॒यताम् इ॒न्द्रमेदिनौ ॥१८॥

úd vepaya tvám arbude 'mítrāṇām amū́ḥ sícaḥ |
jáyaṃś ca jiṣṇúś cāmítrāṃ jáyatām índramedinau ||18||

Заставь ты, о Арбуди, трепетать
Те ряды (наших) недругов,
Побеждающий и победоносный с Индрой-союзником!
Пусть (эти) двое победят (наших) недругов!

Make thou, O Arbudi, those wings of hostile armies quake with
dread.
Let Conqueror and Victor, friends of Indra, overcome our foes.

Frighten thou, O Arbudi, yonder lines of the enemy; the conquering and the victorious (Arbudi and Nyarbudi), the two comrades of Indra, shall conquer the enemies!

avś_11.009.19.

प्र॒ब्लीनो मृदितः॒ शयां हतो॑ ऽमि॒त्रो न्यर्बुदे ।
अग्निजिह्वा॒ धूमशिखा॒ ज॒यन्तीर् यन्तु से॒नया ॥१९॥

práblīno mr̥ditáḥ śayāṃ hatò 'mítro nyarbude |
agnijihvā́ dhūmaśikhā́ jáyantīr yantu sénayā ||19||

Подавленный, растоптанный, убитый
Пусть лежит недруг, о Ньярбуди!
Пусть языки пламени, верхи из дыма
Движутся вместе с войском, побеждая!

Stifled and crushed, O Nyarbudi, low let the smitten foeman lie.
With tongue of fire and crest of smoke go conquering maidens
with our host!

Dissolved, crushed, slain the enemy shall lie, O Nyarbudi! May victorious sprites, with fiery tongues and smoky crests, go with (our) army!

avś_11.009.20.

त॒यार्बुदे प्र॒णुत्तानाम् इ॒न्द्रो हन्तु व॒रंवरम् ।
अमि॒त्राणां श॒चीप॒तिर् मा॒मी॒षां मोचि क॒श् चन॒ ॥२०॥ {२६}

táyārbude práṇuttānām índro hantu váraṃvaram |
amítrāṇāṃ śácīpátir mā́mī́ṣāṃ moci káś caná ||20|| {26}

О Арбуди, пусть Индра — повелитель мощи
Убьет с помощью этого (войска)
Каждого лучшего из разогнанных недругов!
Да не спасется ни один из них!

May Indra, Lord of Might, strike down each bravest warrior of
the foes,
Whom this our band hath put to flight: let not one man of
those escape.

Of the enemies repulsed by this (army), O Arbudi, Indra, the spouse of Saki, shall slay each picked man: not a single one of those yonder shall escape!

avś_11.009.21.

उ॒त् कसन्तु हृ॒दयान्य् ऊर्ध्वः॒ प्राण॒ उ॒द् ईषतु ।
शौष्कास्य॒म् अ॒नु वर्तताम् अमि॒त्रान् मो॒त॒ मित्रि॒णः ॥२१॥

út kasantu hŕ̥dayāny ūrdhváḥ prāṇá úd īṣatu |
śauṣkāsyám ánu vartatām amítrān mótá mitríṇaḥ ||21||

Пусть лопнут (их) сердца!
Дыхание пусть поднимется вверх!
Пусть сухость во рту преследует
Недругов, а не тех, кто дружелюбен!

Let their hearts burst asunder, let their breath fly up and pass
away.
Let dryness of the mouth o'ertake our foemen, not the friendly
ones.

May their hearts burst, may their life's breath escape upward! May dryness of the mouth overtake (our) enemies, but not (our) allies!

avś_11.009.22.

ये॒ च धी॒रा ये॒ चा॒धीराः प॒राञ्चो बधिरा॒श् च ये॒ ।
तमसा॒ ये॒ च तूपरा॒ अ॒थो बस्ताभिवासि॒नः ।
स॒र्वांस् तां॒ अर्बुदे त्व॒म् अमि॒त्रेभ्यो दृशे॒ कुरूदारां॒श् च प्र॒ दर्शय ॥२२॥

yé ca dhī́rā yé cā́dhīrāḥ párāñco badhirā́ś ca yé |
tamasā́ yé ca tūparā́ átho bastābhivāsínaḥ |
sárvāṃs tā́m̐ arbude tvám amítrebhyo dr̥śé kurūdārā́ṃś ca prá darśaya ||22||

(Те), кто мудрые и кто немудрые,
Кто устремляется назад и (кто) глух,
Кто принадлежит мраку и (кто) безрогий,
А также кто блеет (?), как козел, —
Всех их, о Арбуди, ты
Сделай видимыми для (наших) недругов
И покажи дурные предзнаменования!

The clever and the foolish ones, those who are twisted round,
the deaf,
The dusky-hued, the hornless goats and those whose voice is like
the buck's,
All these, O Arbudi, do thou make visible to our enemies:
cause them to look on mists and fog.

Those who are bold and those who are cowardly, those who turn (in flight) and those who are deaf (to danger?), those who are (like) dark goats, and those, too, who bleat like goats, all those, do thou, O Arbudi, make the enemies see, and spectres also make them see!

avś_11.009.23.

अ॒र्बुदिश् च त्रि॒षन्धिश् चामि॒त्रान् नो वि॒ विध्यताम् ।
य॒थैषाम् इन्द्र वृत्रहन् ह॒नाम शचीपते ऽमि॒त्राणां सहस्रशः॒ ॥२३॥

árbudiś ca tríṣandhiś cāmítrān no ví vidhyatām |
yáthaiṣām indra vr̥trahan hánāma śacīpate 'mítrāṇāṃ sahasraśáḥ ||23||

Пусть Арбуди и Тришандхи
Пронзят насквозь наших недругов,
Чтобы из них, из недругов, о Индра — убийца Вритры,
О повелитель мощи, мы убивали тысячами!

Arbudi and Trishandhi fall upon our foes and scatter them,
So that, O Indra, Lord of Might, Slayer of Vritra, we may kill
thousands of these our enemies!

Arbudi and Trishamdhi shall pierce our enemies, so that, O Indra, slayer of Vritra, spouse of Sakī, we may slay the enemy by thousands!

avś_11.009.24.

व॒नस्प॒तीन् वानस्पत्या॒न् ओ॒षधीर् उत॒ वीरु॒धः ।
गन्धर्वाप्सर॒सः सर्पा॒न् देवा॒न् पुण्यजना॒न् पितृ॒̄न् ।
स॒र्वांस् तां॒ अर्बुदे त्व॒म् अमि॒त्रेभ्यो दृशे॒ कुरूदारां॒श् च प्र॒ दर्शय ॥२४॥

vánaspátīn vānaspatyā́n óṣadhīr utá vīrúdhaḥ |
gandharvāpsarásaḥ sarpā́n devā́n puṇyajanā́n pitr̥̄́n |
sárvāṃs tā́m̐ arbude tvám amítrebhyo dr̥śé kurūdārā́ṃś ca prá darśaya ||24||

Лесные деревья, кусты,
Травы и растения,
Гандхарвов-и-апсарас, змей,
Богов, чистых людей, отцов —
Всех их, о Арбуди, ты
Сделай видимыми для (наших) недругов
И покажи дурные предзнаменования!

Tall trees, and those who live in woods, the herbs and creeping
plants of Earth,
Gandharvas, and Apsarases, Snakes, [] Beings, Fathers,
Gods,
All these do thou, O Arbudi, make visible to our enemies:
cause them to look on mists and fog.

The trees, and (growths) that are like trees, the plants and the herbs as well, the Gandharvas and the Apsaras, the serpents, gods, pious men, and (departed) Fathers, all those, O Arbudi, do thou make the enemies see, and spectres also make them see!

avś_11.009.25.

ईशां॒ वो मरु॒तो देव॒ आदित्यो॒ ब्र॒ह्मणस्प॒तिः ।
ईशां॒ व इ॒न्द्रश् चाग्नि॒श् च धाता॒ मित्रः॒ प्रजा॒पतिः ।
ईशां॒ व ऋ॒षयश् चक्रुर् अमि॒त्रेषु समीक्ष॒यन् रदिते॒ अर्बुदे त॒व ॥२५॥

īśā́ṃ vo marúto devá ādityó bráhmaṇaspátiḥ |
īśā́ṃ va índraś cāgníś ca dhātā́ mitráḥ prajā́patiḥ |
īśā́ṃ va ŕ̥ṣayaś cakrur amítreṣu samīkṣáyan radité arbude táva ||25||

Власть над вами (создали) Маруты, божественный
Адитья, Брахманаспати,
Власть над вами (создали) Индра и Агни,
Дхатар, Митра, Праджапати,
Власть над вами создали риши, —
Показывая недругам,
Когда ты укусил (человека), о Арбуди!

High sway have Maruts, and the God Āditya, Brāhmanaspati,
High sway have Indra, Agni, and Dilator, Mitra, Prajāpati,
High sway have Rishis given to you, showing upon our enemies
where thou, O Arbudi, hast pierced.

The Maruts, god Āditya, Brahmanaspati did rule over you; Indra, and Agni, Dhātar, Mitra, and Pragāpati did rule over you; the seers did rule over you. Let them make evident to the enemies when (a man) has been pierced by thee, O Arbudi!

avś_11.009.26.

ते॒षां स॒र्वेषाम् ई॒शाना उ॒त् तिष्ठत सं॒ नह्यध्वम् ।
मि॒त्रा दे॒वजना यूय॒म् इमं॒ संग्रामं॒ संजि॒त्य यथालोकं॒ वि॒ तिष्ठध्वम् ॥२६॥ {२७}

téṣāṃ sárveṣām ī́śānā út tiṣṭhata sáṃ nahyadhvam |
mítrā dévajanā yūyám imáṃ saṃgrāmáṃ saṃjítya yathālokáṃ ví tiṣṭhadhvam ||26|| {27}

О друзья, вы — народ богов.

With full dominion over these, rise, stand ye up, prepare your-
selves,
Ye are our friends, celestial hosts. When ye have won this
battle, go, each to his several sphere, apart.

Ruling over all these, rise ye and arm yourselves! Ye divine folk are (our) friends: win ye the battle, and disperse to your various abodes!
