प्रजा॒पतिष् ट्वा बध्नात् प्रथम॒म् अ॒स्तृतं वीर्या॑य क॒म् ।
त॒त् ते बध्नाम्य् आ॒युषे व॒र्चस ओ॒जसे च ब॒लाय चा॒स्तृतस् त्वाभि॒ रक्षतु ॥१॥

prajā́patiṣ ṭvā badhnāt prathamám ástr̥taṃ vīryā̀ya kám |
tát te badhnāmy ā́yuṣe várcasa ójase ca bálāya cā́str̥tas tvābhí rakṣatu ||1||

For manly strength Prajāpati bound thee on first, invincible.
This for long life on thee I bind for splendour, strength, and
energy. Invincible, let it guard thee well.

avś_19.046.02.

ऊर्ध्व॒स् तिष्ठतु र॒क्षन्न् अ॒प्रमादम् अ॒स्तृतेम॒म् मा॒ त्वा दभन् पण॒यो यातुधा॒नाः ।
इ॒न्द्र इव द॒स्यून् अ॒व धूनुष्व पृतन्यतः॒ स॒र्वां छ॒त्रून् वि॒ षहस्वा॒स्तृतस् त्वाभि॒ रक्षतु ॥२॥

ūrdhvás tiṣṭhatu rákṣann ápramādam ástr̥temám mā́ tvā dabhan paṇáyo yātudhā́nāḥ |
índra iva dásyūn áva dhūnuṣva pr̥tanyatáḥ sárvāṃ chátrūn ví ṣahasvā́str̥tas tvābhí rakṣatu ||2||

Erect, invincible, be this man's watchful keeper: let not the
Panis or the sorcerers harm thee.
Shake off thy foes as Indra scattered Dasyus: quell all enemies.
Invincible, let it guard thee well.

avś_19.046.03.

शतं॒ च न प्रह॒रन्तो निघ्न॒न्तो न॒ तस्तिरे॒ ।
त॒स्मिन्न् इ॒न्द्रः प॒र्य् अदत्त च॒क्षुः प्राण॒म् अ॒थो ब॒लम् अ॒स्तृतस् त्वाभि॒ रक्षतु ॥३॥

śatáṃ ca na praháranto nighnánto ná tastiré |
tásminn índraḥ páry adatta cákṣuḥ prāṇám átho bálam ástr̥tas tvābhí rakṣatu ||3||

Indra hath lent the power of sight, and vital breath and strength
to this.
Whom even a hundred combatants, striking, have failed to over-
come. Invincible, let it guard thee well.

avś_19.046.04.

इ॒न्द्रस्य त्वा व॒र्मणा प॒रि धापयामो यो॒ देवा॒नाम् अधिराजो॒ बभू॒व ।
पु॒नस् त्वा देवाः॒ प्र॒ णयन्तु स॒र्वे॒ ऽस्तृतस् त्वाभि॒ रक्षतु ॥४॥

índrasya tvā vármaṇā pári dhāpayāmo yó devā́nām adhirājó babhū́va |
púnas tvā devā́ḥ prá ṇayantu sárvé 'str̥tas tvābhí rakṣatu ||4||

Around thy limbs I place the mail of Indra who hath become
the Gods' imperial Sovran.
Again let all the Deities bring thee hither. Invincible let it guard
thee well.

avś_19.046.05.

अस्मि॒न् मणा॒व् ए॒कशतं वीर्या॑णि सह॒स्रं प्राणा॒ अस्मिन्न् अ॒स्तृते ।
व्याघ्रः॒ श॒त्रून् अभि॒ तिष्ठ स॒र्वान् य॒स् त्वा पृतन्याद् अ॒धरः सो॒ अस्त्व् अ॒स्तृतस् त्वाभि॒ रक्षतु ॥५॥

asmín maṇā́v ékaśataṃ vīryā̀ṇi sahásraṃ prāṇā́ asminn ástr̥te |
vyāghráḥ śátrūn abhí tiṣṭha sárvān yás tvā pr̥tanyād ádharaḥ só astv ástr̥tas tvābhí rakṣatu ||5||

One and a hundred manly powers, a thousand lives hath this
Amulet, unconquered ever.
Go forth a tiger, strike down all thy foemen: let him who would
oppose fall low beneath thee. Invincible, let it guard thee
well.

avś_19.046.06.

घृता॒द् उ॒ल्लुप्तो म॒धुमान् प॒यस्वान्त् सह॒स्रप्राणः शत॒योनिर् वयोधाः॒ ।
शम्भू॒श् च मयोभू॒श् चो॒र्जस्वांश् च प॒यस्वांश् चा॒स्तृतस् त्वाभि॒ रक्षतु ॥६॥

ghr̥tā́d úllupto mádhumān páyasvānt sahásraprāṇaḥ śatáyonir vayodhā́ḥ |
śambhū́ś ca mayobhū́ś córjasvāṃś ca páyasvāṃś cā́str̥tas tvābhí rakṣatu ||6||

Drawn forth from butter, rich in milk and sweetness, hundred-
lived, thousand-homed, bestowing vigour,
Kindly, delightsome, full of sap, and mighty, invincible let it
guard thee well.

avś_19.046.07.

य॒था त्व॒म् उत्तरो॒ ऽसो असपत्नः॒ सपत्नहा॒ ।
सजाता॒नाम् असद् वशी॒ त॒था त्वा सविता॒ करद् अ॒स्तृतस् त्वाभि॒ रक्षतु ॥७॥

yáthā tvám uttaró 'so asapatnáḥ sapatnahā́ |
sajātā́nām asad vaśī́ táthā tvā savitā́ karad ástr̥tas tvābhí rakṣatu ||7||

That thou mayst be pre-eminent, slayer of rivals, rivalless,
May Savitar cause thee to be chief and controller of thy kin.
Invincible, let it guard thee well.
