  • B/L/A/M display screenshots captured from the live dictionaries (Monier-Williams in all four modes, plus Apte, Böhtlingk-Roth, and Grassmann for comparison).

The API reference, encoding & transliteration schemes, the source data formats, and the contributor workflow are all documented from the live site and the sanskrit-lexicon repositories. See the catalog for the full list of 42 dictionaries.

Two companion texts — Abhidhānacintāmaṇipariśiṣṭa (ACPH) and Abhidhānacintāmaṇiśiloñcha (ACSJ) — were flagged to be added in the same way.

Highlights:

  • Abbreviations identified and tagged — <ab> for most abbreviations, <lang> repurposed to mark related-word languages, and <ls> for references to articles and literary sources beyond the Ṛg-Veda.
  • Ṛg-Veda link references (e.g. {123,4. 15}) inferred throughout.
  • Corrections, deletions, and additions from Grassmann's Verbesserungen und Nachträge integrated, introducing a new <chg> markup element that may carry over to other dictionaries.

The revision was led by @Andhrabharati, with the Verbesserungen und Nachträge digitization contributed by @maltenth and abbreviation interpretation help from @fxru.

It carries to_devanagari.py and to_slp1.py scripts for round-trip conversion: a dictionary is converted to Devanāgarī and back to SLP1, and the two are diffed to verify the conversion is lossless against the csl-orig source.
