- Evidence:
src/data/block-by-type-matrix.jsonandsrc/data/palette-tokens.json. - Limitations: the heatmap reports recoverable MW structural blocks; it does not classify every semantic or editorial nuance.
- Validation: generated by
npm run build-mw-depth; checked bynpm run validate-mw-depth,npm test, andnpm run build. - Owner repo:
csl-atlas. - Next use: inspect highlighted rows, then open exact dictionary source records before citing the pattern.
Filter by article type
Reading the heatmap
- Y-axis (rows): 18 formal blocks (F01 Record header through F18 Correction record) — each block is a structural component of an MW entry.
- X-axis (columns): 14 article types — categories of entries (root, masculine noun, compound sub-entry, etc.).
- Colour: percentage of entries of that type containing that block. 0% = white; 100% = dark red.
- Type-defining blocks: the rows-with-cells-near-100% (F10 sense gloss, F17 machine annotation) are near-universal; the cells-near-100% on specific types (F14 botanical in botanical column) define that type.
- Off-diagonals: the most informative cells. F13 (
L.hedge) at 71.5% in botanical and 64.7% in biographical reveals that those types are koshic-attested rather than textually attested.
